A fairy tale setting in the heart of the Black Forest lends a mystical quality to The Saint as Tiffany Reisz, employing her character Nora Sutherlin as the storyteller, tells the tale her impatient readers have awaited to a rapt listener. And you won’t even have a chance to get comfortable in your chair before the indomitable Mistress Nora begins to do what she does best. . . anything she wants to! With a touch of sadism that would make Søren proud, Tiffany Reisz has made her readers wait until The Saint, the fifth book in her Original Sinners series, for Eleanor’s and Søren’s story . . . and she throws in just enough Kingsley to satisfy my pirate addiction! Although we’ve had snippets from the early years between Nora, Søren, and Kingsley in previous books, The Saint tells the story of how Eleanor Louise Schreiber becomes the girl seen by Søren in his dreams…the one he described to Kingsley in the Prince.

Readers of my review, I am going to beg your forgiveness before I begin for my shameless enthusiasm for this book. Søren describes Eleanor’s mind as a “marvelous playground”, and that description could certainly be applied to the mind of Tiffany Reisz. She doesn’t just write her books . . . she toys with words, crafting them into stories that lodge themselves in her readers’ minds. I read a lot of books: some are good, some are very good, and most are entertaining and pass the time. That sentence doesn’t even touch the experience that is The Saint. When I think of all the boring books I had to read and was compelled to analyze as an English Literature student — I have to ask myself why we didn’t have works like this absorbing and evocative book to review? Yeah, yeah . . . I know it’s erotica and probably wouldn’t be considered acceptable in the classroom, but I’m of the opinion, when dealing with books classified as erotica, too much is made of the sexual acts themselves. In The Saint it is the author’s rare talent for imagery, word play, and humor that informs the erotica. There is no question Tiffany Reisz is perfecting her art with each book, and what a pleasure to have accompanied her on her journey! She is the mistress of mind games who teases and taunts your emotions while she feeds your love of descriptive language with her words.
The Saint is a book that transcends any arbitrary rating system. You’ll be tempted to read it quickly to find out what happens . . . but you won’t. You’ll backtrack, highlight, sigh and cry, and savor every word. I don’t mind confessing it is one of a handful of books I began to re-read as soon as I finished. There are no extraneous details, there is no gratuitous sex . . . every word is important in this tightly written book. Be prepared to lose yourself as the author uses her unique word brush to paint indelible images of her characters in your mind so that regardless of how you see their actions, they become your people. The Saint is not really a standalone book. Readers will be doing themselves a disservice if they don’t read each book in The Red Years Quartet, and in order — The Siren, The Angel, The Prince, The Mistress — before reading The Saint. Old questions are answered and new questions are asked as Tiffany Reisz shows her readers everything. Mistress Nora orders you to read every word of The Saint and wait patiently for The King!

I read and enjoy many books like you and agree that ANY Tiffany Reisz Original Sinner book is so hard to fit into a standard rating system. These books are rare treasures, writing masterpieces – like fine wine that is to be savored & desired to be consumed again. I cannot wait to journey deeper into Nora & Soren’s story with a spicy touch of Kingsley on the side!!
