SynopsisLyla Summers hates men. Okay, maybe hate is a strong word … Lyla intensely dislikes men.

Her father has let her down her whole life. Her brother betrayed her in the worst way possible. And her past relationship experiences with men have been less than great.
Lyla is focussing all her energy into her band, Vintage, so when they receive an offer to sign with TMS Records, it seems that things are finally turning around for her. The last thing she wants is a man getting in the way.

Tom Carter loves women. Okay, love might be pushing it … Tom enjoys screwing lots of women.

When tragedy befalls his best friend, Tom finds himself making a promise to the big man upstairs – he’ll change his ways, if he saves the woman his best friend loves.
Tom’s prayer is answered. Now he has to change. Which means no sleeping around.

After Vintage’s manager breaks her leg skiing, Tom steps in as tour manager, and Lyla finds herself on tour with the man whore of rock.

Put one perpetually horny Tom and one sex resistant Lyla together, equals a recipe for disaster. Or so you’d think…

But an unexpected friendship is formed. A closeness neither of them expected. Putting one chastity belt and one lamp that is in desperate need of rubbing, to the test.

Will the sex storm that is Tom Carter, finally find himself tamed by the rock chick with a hardened heart, or will he go back to his womanizing ways…?

4.5 Perfectly Stormy Stars

Tom Carter, oh how I’ve waited for you! Taming the Storm is easily one of my most anticipated books of 2014. Samantha Towle rocked my book world when she brought Jake Wethers to life in The Mighty Storm and Wethering the Storm, both books sit on my all-time favorites shelf. So needless to say, I was beyond excited for Tom “Rub the Lamp” Carter’s story. From the previous books we know all about Tom and his man-whoring ways, we also know he is a fun-loving guy who is always up for a good time.

In Taming the Storm we are treated to a side Tom that I never thought could exist. He is still as hot as ever with his self-confidence, a bit of arrogance, cockiness, and sense of humor yet there is a vulnerability to him that makes him human. Lyla Summers comes into his world, well more like he crashes hers, and all is fair in love and war. Well, in their case, it’s more like war and less like love, but the romantic in me knew that their story would be a love story, and an epic one at that.

Lyla has sworn off men, she has been hurt too many times in the past and her most recent heartbreak came at the hands of someone really close to her. She is on a sex hiatus and no one is going to bring her back, or so she thinks. When Tom becomes the band manager on the tour she is less than thrilled. He has hit on her in the past and even though he is hotter than sin, she turned him down each time. In these first moments together Lyla does show a bit of immaturity and that was a bit off-putting but it was understandable. Her inner monologue is hilarious and she is one quirky and funny girl. I loved that she had an awesome sense of humor and could hold her own.

“My virginia is closed for business. Virginia is my nickname for my vajayjay.”

He turns until he’s facing me. His gaze drifts slowly down my body and then climbs back up. My stomach clenches. Virginia sparks to life. Oh God.

Tom still can’t believe Lyla turned him down. He is ego is big enough he assumed she was a lesbian, because there couldn’t be any other explanation right? I swear I love this guy so much! So the tour begins and Lyla and Tom are sharing very close quarters and the sparks begin to fly. The sexual tension is through the roof and as much as Lyla fights her attraction to him he slowly begins to break down her barriers. Tom has a made a promise that he plans to honor and when he is with Lyla he knows things are different yet has no intention of a full commitment. He may have put his man-whoring ways behind him but he is still not into this thing called love. What is the best solution? A friends with benefits, sexual relationship, that is to last only during tour of course. That always works right?

I feel territorial over her. Even though I have no right, I feel like she’s mine. And I don’t want anyone but me touching her.

And so it begins, this scorching HOT affair, and the challenge being that no feelings develop. Taming the Storm is the perfect blend of sexy, angsty, frustrating, and yet heartwarming story. Tom is his usual awesomely arrogant self, Lyla is a bit annoying with her immaturity, but for some crazy reason these two click. Tom knows it and doesn’t want to admit, Lyla admits it and it doesn’t bode well. The ride is intense, the sex is hot, and end result is phenomenal! Samantha Towle has brought life to yet another fantastic character in Tom Carter and Taming the Storm is a fantastic read. I devoured it from beginning to end and I admit that my heart felt sadness that is the end for the boys of The Mighty Storm. Or is it? I really, really hope not.

I would give up everything, including myself, for you…because I would rather have a moment of everything with you than a lifetime of nothing.

It’s been twelve years since Tru Bennett last saw Jake Wethers, her former best friend and boy she once loved.

Jake Wethers, sexy, tattooed and deliciously bad lead singer, and brains behind The Mighty Storm, one of the biggest bands in the world, left Tru with a broken heart when he moved from England to America with his family when they were both fourteen.

Sent to interview Jake for her music column by the magazine she works for, they are both unprepared for the sparks that fly the instant they reconnect. Only, there’s a complication to their instant feelings for one another—Will, Tru’s boyfriend of two years.

Then Jake makes Tru a job offer she can’t refuse—travelling the world with him and his band. But taking the job means leaving Will behind, and being on the road with the band means spending an inordinate amount of time with Jake.

Is Tru strong enough to resist the delectable bad boy who once held her heart so completely, or will she willingly risk it all for one night with the world’s most notorious womanizer?

Wrong. Even the bright California sun can’t whitewash the dark side of celebrity coupledom. Greedy music execs, merciless paparazzi, and Jake’s wild past are lurking around every corner. Making matters worse, Jake announces he doesn’t want kids, which just may be a deal breaker.

Tru loves Jake more than anything. But when a devastating crisis threatens to destroy everything they’ve fought for, the couple must face the hard truth: What if, this time, love is not enough?
