A tragic past. A forgotten week. A broken heart.
When Braelynn wakes up in a hospital bed with a week of her life missing, she turns to the darkness that she didn’t know she craved.
Lost and confused she’s left empty.
Addiction. Fear. A broken soul.
Peyton Haas is self–assertive, determined to get what he wants, and for the first time in his life—in love.
But is he willing to face the demons that haunt Braelynn?
Their love was like no other—steamy, heart–stopping… Beautiful.
It was the first time the either of them had let someone in. But one week was all it took to change their lives forever.
Will their love be enough to keep them together? Coherent, book two in the Consensual Series.
Excerpt
Peyton’s hands pulled me by the waist towards him and Landon turned away, walking back through the crowd. My eyes were locked on him until he vanished in the crowd.
“You were flirting,” Peyton growled, his lips brushing my temple.
I turned to face him, my eyes locking with his. “No, I wasn’t.” My lips pouted.
“I saw you.” His hand crawled up my arm, wrapping around the flesh.
“You didn’t see shit. I wasn’t flirting,” I hissed through my teeth.
“Do you want him, Lynn?” Peyton asked, bringing his lips over mine but refusing to kiss me. “Knowing that another man wants you … does that turn you on?” His tongue slid across my bottom lip.
“Does it bother you that you’re not the only who sees me?”
“You were flirting.”
“You left me. To be with her.”
“Braelynn-”

Livia Jamerlan has written a raw and gritty follow up to her novel Consensual in her newest erotic and formidable novel Coherent. I find Jamerlan’s writing powerful and provocative, and if you are looking for a simple plot with predictable storylines then don’t bother reading this book.
If you want a novel that will totally knock you on your ass and keep you wondering until the end, then this is a book for you. Coherent is book number two of a three part trilogy.
At eight percent into this book, I hate every one of Braelynn’s supposed friends and loved ones. What the HELL is going on? I want to pitch the book and tar and feather Peyton.
At twenty five percent in, I am ready to throw my kindle at the wall and KILL Peyton Hass. Oh I am so freaking mad!! <<< Yes, it is worthy of double explanation point.
I sympathize with Braelynn and honestly flip the the bird to all the characters except for her.
Note to self, if I had friends like Kennedy and Gus, I would have gone and made friends with my enemies. Really, these are you friends Braelynn? (Yes, I am talking to a fictional character.) Could you have picked more self centered and stupid friends? Girl, you need to find a whole new group of friends because the ones you have are assess and are completely worthless.
At thirty three percent in I think the author has lost her freaking mind and has ruined the entire love story of Peyton and Braelynn.
Is this the story I thought would happen at the closing of Consensual? No!
Do I agree with all the characters decisions in the book? Hell No, but I am not the writer, it’s Jamerlan’s world and I was just asked to be part of the ride.
Did I email the author at different points and want to yell at her? Yes, but I never sent the emails. Cause like I said it’s not my creation, I was just on the ride that is the life of Braelynn and Peyton.
Do I still hate Kennedy with every fiber of my being? HELL TO THE YES! As best friend go, I so could have bitch slapped this girl and clueless Gus. Not no sissy girl slap, but a clinched fist, right to the jaw; where her mouth would have to be wired shut for months maybe years. ****Insert Rocky Dance****
Was I impacted emotionally by the book? The answer would be Absofreakinglutely. This book riveted me to Braelynn and Peyton’s story like I haven’t been in a long time. I took the gut punches that Jamerlan jabbed at me in the book. I took a few on the chin, as Braelynn’s story ripped my heart out. I fell back in love with Peyton, as he was just as torn up by what happens to Braelynn as I was.
Should you read this book? Without a doubt, this is not your standard ‘happily ever after’ book and I for one am grateful for the chance to have experienced this story.
Jamerlan is one powerful writer and she now is on my one-click list.
BTW the author gave me a copy of the book for a fair and honest blah blah blah. Like I would impugn my moral compass to lie in a review, for a free book. Really the amount I spend in a month on books could pay some people’s rent. So a free book does not get a five star review. A damned well written book gets a five star review.
