Bax is coming in two months…June 17th, and we don’t want you to miss this book!
This is how Jay describes her new novel/series, “It’s dark and dangerous and set in a fictitious underworld/bad part of town. The men in all of the books are way more along the line of being anti-heros than true leading men. I guess the easiest way to sum them up is by saying the books are all about the choices these characters have to make and the outcomes and results of those decisions. Bax’s book is all about having to make the hard choices and what becomes of him and his lady in doing so. They are super fun, very atmospheric and I think really what writing a bad boy should be like if you’re going to it :)”
Title: Better When He’s Bad (Welcome to the Point #1)

Publication Date: June 17, 2014
Welcome to the Point
There’s a difference between a bad boy and a boy who’s bad . . . meet Shane Baxter.
Sexy, dark, and dangerous, Bax isn’t just from the wrong side of the tracks, he is the wrong side of the tracks. A criminal, a thug, and a brawler, he’s the master of bad choices, until one such choice landed him in prison for five years. Now Bax is out and looking for answers, and he doesn’t care what he has to do or who he has to hurt to get them. But there’s a new player in the game, and she’s much too innocent, much too soft…and standing directly in his way.
Dovie Pryce knows all about living a hard life and the tough choices that come with it. She’s always tried to be good, tried to help others, and tried not to let the darkness pull her down. But the streets are fighting back, things have gone from bad to worse, and the only person who can help her is the scariest, sexiest, most complicated ex-con The Point has ever produced.
Bax terrifies her, but it doesn’t take Dovie long to realize that some boys are just better when they’re bad.

~About the Author~
I’m supposed to share interesting details about myself so that my readers get to know me so here we go in no particular order: I’m an natural redhead even though I haven’t seen my real hair color in years, I’m a big fan of tattoos and have a half sleeve on either arm and various other pieces all over the place, I’ve been in the bar industry since I was in college and it has always offered interesting insight into how men and women interact with each other, I have 3 dogs that are all crazy, I live in Colorado and love the snow, I love music and in all reality wish I could be a rock star not a writer or a bartender but I have zero talent so there is that.
I love to write, love to read and all I’m interested in is a good story with interesting characters that make the reader feel something.

Fiercely liberal Monica Remy prefers to blend in. Despite her tattoos, piercings, and outspoken personality, she transferred to Central to escape—before she finds out that her next door neighbor is the uber conservative governor son, Trey Chapman.
No matter how hard she tries to avoid Trey, he still finds a way to get under her skin. Monica can’t stand his crisp white shirts or his staunch views on women. But she can’t help counting every freckle on his face and wondering what it would feel like to have him stop talking politics and kiss her.
A class debate project forces the unlikely pair to work together, and the political lines are blurred in late-night make out sessions. But despite their fiery chemistry, Trey’s politics threatens to smother their relationship for good.
~ Excerpt ~
“I’m not flirting, Mr. Chapman, I’m trying to work on an assignment.” I put the pen down on the table and then pushed it off. “Whoopsies,” I said with a small grin.
I slowly got up, circling to the other side of the chair. Then I dipped down low, with my butt raised in the air and picked up the pen, slowly inching back up and throwing my hair back. I shot a grin in Trey’s direction. He was squirming in his seat. Some politician-in-training he was.
Our relationship had slowly been progressing, and when I was with him it became easier to push out the past. As long as we stayed away from his fraternity and the Kappa girls. Instead of seeing them we’d spend nights on the couch watching movies or kissing. He never pushed me to go any farther, but the more time I spent with Trey the more I fell for him.
“I guess I need to keep my hands steady,” I said in a low voice. “Maybe I should just check some reference books out over there behind that big book case.” I pointed over to the stack of reference books behind us and nodded in their direction.
Slowly, I walked over, swaying my body ever so slightly and hoped he would get the hint and follow. Once I was at the other side of the bookshelf, I pressed my back along the books and waited. It was only a few seconds before I heard Trey’s slow, methodical steps approaching the shelf. I pulled the collar of his shirt as soon as I saw his feet, dragging him behind the shelf until he was flush against me.
“Do you suppose we could just absorb these reference books by osmosis, Miss Remy?” he said, putting his hands on either side of my waist.
“I just needed a little study break,” I whispered, running a finger down the buttons of his shirt.
“But, Miss Remy, we have barely started,” he said, teasing me and letting his lips hover just above mine.
“Mr. Chapman, I’m just trying to make the study process go a little smoother. This book case that keeps us hidden from the rest of the library should help,” I said with a coy smile and unbuttoned the top button of his shirt.
“Miss Remy, I wouldn’t want to start anything to affect your studies.” He ran his hand along the low collar of my shirt so delicately slow it made my whole body tremble. “Especially when you’re wearing such a nice outfit.”
I couldn’t take the teasing anymore. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pressed against him, kissing him hard. He moved his hands to my lower back, running his fingers up and down my spine. Slowly, I moved my hands from his neck and down to his shirt, unbuttoning each button. I wasn’t planning on having sex in the library, or sex at all for that matter, but I didn’t want the button marks that I usually had all over me from his shirts.
Once I got the last button undone I pulled him back to me. The material of his undershirt was so thin I could feel every ripple of his abs on my stomach. He really was a fine specimen of a man. His lips trailed down my neck and to my collarbone. I moaned softly when he nibbled at the sensitive skin above my chest.
He pulled his lips back up to my ear and whispered, “This is a library, Miss Remy.”
I bit my lip. “Sorry, Mr. Chapman, it won’t happen again.”
He nipped at my ear lobe and then licked the same spot. “But I love it when it does.”
I gasped and then buried my face in his, trying to keep quiet but it was hard when my entire body was aching for him. It had been too long since I’d been with anyone. I hadn’t wanted to, but with Trey, it was all I wanted. He was all I wanted. I hadn’t had any flashbacks since the party and I thought I would possibly be ready to move on with my life.
“Trey Chapman, you make me crazy,” I whispered.
“And you love it,” he said placing a quick kiss where my neck met my shoulder and I squirmed, trying not to squeal.
“And I know how to make you crazy.” I pulled his lips to mine, acting like I was going to kiss him and then nibbled at his bottom lip, slowly and tenderly.
His eyes rolled back into his head, and I could feel him harden beneath his pants. Two could play at the teasing game. I let go of his lip, placing a soft kiss where my teeth had been.
“You’re too good at that,” he whispered, running his hands down my ribcage and landing at the bare skin where my shirt rode up slightly.

~ Author Interview ~
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
I’m an insomniac who lives in a Civil War era Victorian near San Francisco. I love to act and have spent years studying the craft. I’m also a vintage rock fangirl who shows off her autographs with pride.
If your book were made into a movie, who do you picture playing each characters part?
Honestly, I would choose all unknowns. Lily and Donovan have a unique situation, and I would want the audience to feel the experience as genuinely as possible. If the audience is seeing the actor and thinking of other things he or she has done, they lose out on the experience.
Is anything in your book based on real life experiences or purely all imagination?
The story is original, yet the situations in it happen all the time in real life. 10 to 15% of college age adults have had an experience with a sibling. Quite a few are willing to share their journey. I’ve heard some lovely stories.
Lily’s passion for baking and advanced culinary skills at a young age stem from my personal experiences.
Is there a message in your novels that you want readers to walk away with? If so, what is it?
I hope people will walk away seeing the world through new eyes. I’m not trying to sell anyone on anything. However, far too often we look at situations as black or white, and we do that because we are told to. If readers question their beliefs, regardless of if they change, I’ve done something extraordinary. There are amazing stories out there, including that of a German couple where the man has served jail time for their relationship, yet they refuse to part. How strong is a love where the people involved are locked up for it, only to be released from jail and return to the same situation, knowing they will wind up behind bars again?
Some authors listen to music while writing, others prefer a quiet space. Which is your preference? If you do listen to music, do you have a playlist? Care to share?
It depends on my mood and what I am writing. One of the character’s in the book, Christopher, is very much like the people who raised and influenced him musically. He is actually an amalgamation of many 60’s British rock stars. I listened to a lot of Hollies and Small Faces when I wrote his scenes.
Give us the 140 character TWEET description of your book.

MUTUAL RELEASE is a coming of age novel about trust…on the long road to love.
Title: Mutual Release
Author: Liz Crowe
Guest Reviewer: Stephanie Biedlingmaier
Genre: Contemporary Erotica Romance/BDSM
Publish Date: April 4, 2013
Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars
~ Synopsis ~
Can two dark souls ever make a light?
As president of her own distribution company, Julie Dawson has all she ever wanted — money, power, and respect. But her carefully crafted façade conceals a torment of abuse and helplessness. After years remaining emotionally aloof, she is finally independent, but alone. Because she refuses to rely on anyone but herself ever again.
Evan Adams is no stranger to success, or personal demons. The horrific trauma that destroyed his twin sister, and tore his family apart, forced him to craft a new life from the ashes of the old. He’s content enough, focusing ahead and not dwelling on his murky past. But something important is missing. He knows what that thing is but refuses to acknowledge it.
When a chance encounter brings these two strong-willed but damaged people together , what seems like a long, erotic journey through hell could lead them to a match made in heaven.
~ Review ~
This was my first experience reading any of Liz Crowe’s books, even though I have several on my Kindle. After reading Mutual Release, I seriously wondered why I hadn’t yet read the ones I bought. This was an amazing story, and Liz has an incredibly beautiful and descriptive writing style.
This story starts out with high school senior Evan Adams whose family life is anything but pretty. His father isn’t around much and his mother seems to care about everything more than her children, especially his twin sister Olivia. On top of that, his family has agreed to take in Damien, someone who, it seems, has stepped directly out of hell and into their family life. I despised Damien immediately. I was feeling Evan’s frustrations, his anger, and his concern for his sister Olivia. We follow Evan’s story until his mid-twenties. He experiments with BDSM, and we see his darker side through this discovery and transformation of himself.
Then, we meet Julie….to be honest, when I got to that section of the book and realized that I was starting over with Julie’s life as a high school senior as well, I was frustrated. It’s like starting a new book again, when I was already so invested in Evan’s life. But once I started reading about Julie, it was apparent that we needed to see Julie’s life from that point forward to understand who she has become and why. Her life is equally as bad as Evan’s. Her mother is more interested in marrying a rich man than caring for Julie. My heart broke for her at some of the horrific events that occurred after her mother remarried Bart, a scum of the earth kind of man who is way too interested in Julie. After reading this and seeing Julie as a twenty-something business woman who is cold and heartless, it makes you better understand why.
Then Julie and Evan meet and the sparks fly! Both are damaged, independent, stubborn, and huge control freaks, so there are all sorts of problems from the start.
“But just to clear the air, I want you to know I am not married. I have no girlfriend nor am I in any way attached to anyone, unless you consider the ten or so people who count on me for paychecks every month as dependents. So you can stop cursing me under your breath, like you are right now, for being a cheating, typical man-whore.”
Evan is persistent, Julie is a continual bitch to him, and at times I wanted to strangle her for her behavior toward Evan.
“What makes you think I’ll drop everything and spend half a day having overpriced coffee in an annoying hippie college town with a cold, boring brewery tour after? “
I loved Evan’s personality, his calmness towards Julie’s snarky attitude made me laugh.
“I mean, really, Julie, we are having a picnic just friends sharing some great beer and snacks, and you’re sitting there like there’s a flagpole up your ass. Relax, Boss Lady, for real.”
The rest of the book is a roller coaster of emotional ups and downs for Evan and Julie. Every challenge has you wondering how these two people will end up. Just when they are able to resolve one big problem, something else crops up. Damien continues to make Evan’s life a living hell, and Evan has trouble getting over the guilt and regret he harbors over Olivia. Damien’s reappearance only messes with Evan’s feelings even more.
The characters were so alive on these pages, and I laughed, I cried, and held my breath at times. This is an emotionally charged, well developed story that had me never wanting to put it down! Mutual Release is a definite must-read!!!!
Disclaimer: While Stephanie is now working with Tri-Destiny Publishing, she was hired after Mutual Release was given to LLL to review and before she was hired by Tri-Destiny. However, the review was posted after her hire date.
