Authors’ and Lovers’ Charities

“You will find, as you look back on your life, that the moments that stand out
are the moments when you have done things for others.”
 – Henry Drummond

We readers are a lucky bunch.  We routinely receive the gift of literature from our favorite writers. Without them, stories of love, adventure, bravery, struggle, and triumph would go unknown.  From their imaginations and knowledge, we are given respite from our stressful lives or the methods to manage it. In return, we share thoughts and opinions on their work with others to pass on the feelings and knowledge that we have received.  It is our way of saying ‘thank you.’

Authors not only give us their words, but they also to give to others in need with their time and donations. Let us readers give as freely to those who are less fortunate as we are to share our love of books. Below are charities that some of our favorite authors support. Also, please look in your own area for places that could use a helping hand.  Every little bit helps.
