On the night of February 10, 2013, Matthew Corn passed away in a tragic accident. It’s impossible to sum up the life and vibrant personality of one person in a few short sentences. To say Matt will be missed is an understatement of gross proportions.

He was a loving husband and devoted father, quick to give his family everything they needed and more. Matt moved from Pittsburgh to Savannah with his wife, Daniele, to work at Gulfstream. Here they had three children: Ben, 5, Andrew, 2, and Lily, 1. He was a hard worker, always giving one hundred and ten percent to his job, but never missed the chance to joke. He was known for being obsessively organized and neat. If you wanted to see him panic, all you had to do was move his tools out of order or get his Jeep dirty. Matt was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan and Pittsburg Penguins fan, more than willing to go nose to nose for his favorite teams. He loved the outdoors and off-road ramp competitions. He spent time fishing and hunting with his children, eager to instill in them his love of nature. His friends knew him as a person that would drop everything if you needed help.

Now it’s our turn to help. Daniele and his children need us. With the generous donations of these wonderful authors, we hope to raise money for the Corn family to help with medical and living expenses. His loss has left a hole in the hearts of his family and friends that will never be filled, but it is our sincere wish that this auction will ease some of the burdens they face.

This auction event is being arranged and orchestrated by one of the participating authors, a close personal friend of the Corn family. All items available for bid are donated by the authors. 100% of the funds raised through the auction and donated to the general fund will be forwarded directly to the Corn family.

The website is currently under construction in preparation for the event, and should be complete no later than Wednesday, February 20. The aucution will open on Friday, February 22, and will run through Friday, March 15. Please see the Auction Rules page for more information.

Join Us Wednesday January 16 at 8:30 p.m. EST for Fan Chat with Michelle Leighton

We scheduled a fan chat for this Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at 8:30 PM EST with author Michelle Leighton where YOU have the opportunity to chat with her online and ask her the questions you’ve always wanted to know about Down To You and Up To Me or anything else for that matter. Of course, she has complete control over what she does and doesn’t answer.  :)

If you are new to our fan chats, we utilize Tinychat (which are live chat rooms) and will post the link on both Facebook and Twitter around 8:00 PM EST Wednesday night. The link for the chat is:

  • You simply click on the link, which will take you to the chat room. (Do not login using Facebook, which seems to lock up or kick you out).
  • Select Guest and change your user name
  • If a Facebook pop up appears, press cancel
  • You’ll now be in the chatroom

Listed below are some frequently asked questions to help you understand how Tinychat works.  So spread the word and we hope you can join us!

Do I need a webcam to join the chat?
No.  All our chats are conducted off camera so there’s no need for one.

Do I need to have a Facebook/Twitter account to log on? It’s asking for one, and I don’t feel comfortable using my real name.
We respect your wish to remain anonymous and totally understand your concern.  No, you don’t need to have an account.  It should give you the option of joining a chat as a “guest.”  If that option is not available, try opening the chat link under a new browser (Safari, Firefox, Opera, etc.).  The new browser option should prompt the guest option.  If it doesn’t and you would like your name changed in the transcript, just contact us at the end of the chat and we’ll change it for you.

I’m on my phone and can’t log on! Help!
If you’re using a mobile (iPhone/Android), our suggestion is to download the tinychat app.  The same goes if you’re using a tablet:

I’m using a Mac / PC and I can’t connect or log on.  How can I join?
If you’re using a Mac / PC and still can’t get logon, try a different browser other than the one you are using (Firefox, Opera, etc).  If you still can’t log on, then try downloading the desktop app:

I’m using an App on IPhone or Ipad.
After you have connected to the chat DO NOT log out or switch apps. If you do in order to reconnect you will have to power down device. Tiny Chat app will not allow you to leave app and return with out the power down.

I keep getting a plugin error or crashed.  How do I fix it?
While we can’t help with technical issues, our only suggestion would be to reinstall the plugin.  If that doesn’t fix the issue, then try to download the tinychat app and go from there or use another browser.

I’ve tried the above and still can’t get in, but I have a question for the author. What can I do?
The easiest thing would be to tweet us your question(s), and we’ll do our best to get your question answered.  Afterwards we’ll give you the response and you can read the chat transcript.

Review: Up To Me by M.Leighton

Title: Up To Me
Author: M.Leighton
Rating: 5/5 Stars
Genre: Adult Contemporary Romance

This book is impossible to review. There I said it. It’s completely and utterly impossible to write a review about it without ruining the plot for readers. I shall endeavor to try… Up To Me is the follow up to Down To You, the smash self-published hit by New York Times Best Seller, Michelle Leighton. We’re sure that Up To Me (like Down to You) will be no exception in making it on the NY Times list! ;) Her sequel picks up right where the first book ends, with Cash and Olivia in deep trouble because of his father’s mob dealing. This led to Cash leading a double life, his twin and mother both dead, and his father serving prison time for his wife’s murder.

In the sequel, Up To Me, Leighton never gives the reader a chance to catch their breath, and neither do Olivia or Cash have time to breathe as they go from the frying pan right into the inferno of the fire. The plot has so many unexpected twists and turns that my heart was racing along with the characters, and not because of the amazing sex scenes that Leighton writes. Taking a moment to reflect on Chapter 29. *********** It was OMG. Okay back to review. If you want boring, stale and ho hum, then don’t bother reading this book. If you want fast paced, edge of your seat thrills then rush and buy Up To Me. I am still reeling from all the revelations that this book supplied.

The romance between Olivia and Cash is still in full swing, but Olivia still has her doubts about her choices in men. Cash still has trust issues, but who wouldn’t after the last seven years he has lived. I applaud Ms. Leighton in her ability to give both characters voices that ring true, especially in their internal dialog.

The reader does get to meet Olivia’s peach of a mother; the term “bitch on wheels” comes to mind. The woman makes Cruella de Vil appear warm and cuddly.

Ginger is included in the tale and to be honest she’s a little over the top, but I have actually known a Ginger or two in real life so she is believable! I think she provides some needed levity in a reality that may have driven Olivia over the edge. She is Olivia’s touchstone to her life prior to Cash, and she does need that connection.

Yes, Marissa and Taryn are back, enough said on those two.

Plus we get introduced to a hunk with an accent in Gavin, the bar manager. What is it with guys and accents? They’re so fine and delectable.

I believe that Leighton has hit her stride in this adult contemporary genre. I was surprised that Amazon at one point had Down To You listed as erotica; and I greatly disagree with Amazon’s classification. Yes, there is sex, OMG tongue hanging out of mouth, scorching sex, but her books are romances on fire; hint Amazon…new classification. I would love to see Leighton branch out into adult paranormal with her new writing.

I am LUCKY! Yup I really am. Those were my first thoughts going in as I started to read Michelle Leighton’s second book of the Bad Boys series. Then I kept reading and thought HOLY WOW, I sure did get lucky!

We last left off with the mysterious new character named Duffy, introduced to us at the end of the first book Down to You. We’re pretty sure that he’s up to no good as he breaks his way in to Olivia and Marissa’s apartment, just waiting for his chance to get his hands on Olivia. The danger is not over yet for this couple. While it’s nice that all the secrets are out in the open, there is still a past that Cash cannot deny. He is well aware of the problems that this past can pose for Olivia and their future together. His father is in jail, the mob is still a threat, and he still has to deal with living a double life. Olivia on the other hand has her doubts. Cash is slowly pulling her deeper into the relationship, and it’s now at the point where Olivia will be completely inconsolable if things don’t work out between them.  This, of course, would only prove that her mother was right about her taste in men. Eee gads her mother! Enough said!

It’s not all about love, but also life and death. Some really HOT new characters get introduced and boy does Miss Leighton know how to introduce them!! No more, no more, or else I’ll spoil it. But 5 stars from me. It was a THOROUGHLY enjoyable read and I mean thoroughly (insert winky face ;-) ) And here’s some visual aid for those of you that like the visual aid :-)

My Fav Lines: “The funny thing is, the only thing I want is you. Just you. If it was up to me, I’d make the world disappear and it would be just us. Just you and me.” ~Cash

“He closes his eyes as he does, like he’s breathing in a part of me, a part of my soul.” ~Olivia

“I’ve never wanted someone this way. So deeply. So completely. So desperately. But that’s the part that gets me in trouble. It’s the part that scares me.” ~Olivia

“Remember the way you fell when I’m kissing you and touching you. Don’t think with your head. You know me. And when my lips are on yours, you trust me.” ~Cash

I am relatively new to Ms. Leighton’s writing but I found Down to You along with its sequel Up to Me an easy read mixed with a little angst and tossed with a decent heaping of heat. Even though I had read the first a while back, this time I decided it was time for a re-read before diving into book 2 and I don’t regret the decision one bit! Ms. Leighton did not lose a beat with the continuation, which I sometimes find happens with sequels, and I was not disappointed in the least.

Of course, regardless of when I read the first book, I could never in a million years forget the chemistry and budding relationship between Cash and Olivia. These two not only have some serious electricity between them but they have very valid trust issues that any reader can relate to. This story shows more of the inner struggles of a relationship that is founded the way theirs was. This is not your typical Happily Ever After where the girl gets the guy and they ride off into the sunset to have their perfect life. Here you see the good the bad and the ugly, especially when it’s begun at warp speed and now being threatened by all sorts of ugliness. There are some new introductions and even some old ghosts that make their presence a little more well known in this book, and that too was new and refreshing about Up to Me. There is more suspense and a bit more dark drama in this one but Ms. Leighton did a good job using book 1 to set us up for the ride of book 2. I enjoyed the journey she took me on and I eagerly await the next installment!

Now, instead of giving you some awe inspiring, heart melting quote, I will share with you my favorite, most laughable one that just showcases Ms. Leighton’s incredible sense of wit and humor:

“Difficult is breaking and entering. But for a piece of dick like that, I’d break so he could enter. I’d commit a felony and two misdemeanors for an hour with something like that.” ~ Ginger

I have been knee deep with another review but wanted to take a minute and echo what all my fellow “lovers” have said!  Once again, Michelle Leighton does not disappoint with the continuation of her “Bad Boys Series.”  Up to Me was everything I had anticipated and MORE!  Be forewarned ladies, as you’ll definitely be adding Cash to your list of book boyfriends (if he wasn’t already there).  I’ll leave you with my two favorite scenes:  hotel and VIP room.  Need I say more?  One of my favorite lines in the book that hasn’t been mentioned was “Ovaries beat out testicles in speed shower match.”

Title: Up to Me (The Bad Boys, #2)
Author: M. Leighton
Release date: January 6, 2013
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Age Group: Adult

Explore the exciting new book by M.Leighton the sequel to the smash Bestseller Down To You (The Bad Boys #2)

Book Description:
Happily ever after doesn’t come easy. But for love, it’s always worth the fight.

Olivia finds bliss unlike any she’s ever known in Cash’s arms. He sets her skin on fire and melts her heart right inside her chest. Unfortunately, their happily ever after is short-lived when a shadow from Cash’s past threatens to turn their world upside down.
Dangerous people from his father’s world have discovered that Cash holds information that could put them away for a very long time. And they’re willing to do anything—and hurt anybody—to get it back. Giving it up means Cash must choose between the life of his father and the life of Olivia.
Having nearly overcome her wariness of bad boys, Olivia’s trust is shaken when this new threat arises. Now she finds that Cash is not only a danger to her heart, but his family has associations that are a danger to her life as well. She soon discovers that there are some situations in life where trust is a girl’s only option. And this is one of them. If she’s to live, she must trust Cash with her life. But to Olivia, that’s much, much easier than letting go and trusting him with her heart.

Cash’s back is to me. I see him run his fingers through his hair and I hear him sigh again. “I’m asking you to trust me, Olivia.” He turns to face me. “Trust in what you know about me. Because I know, if you stop listening to your fear, you know who I am. Deep down. You know me, Olivia. You know me.

His voice is sincere. His expression is urgent. I close my eyes against his face, his handsome face, the face that haunts both my waking and my sleeping world. I open them again when I feel warm hands cup my cheeks. Cash is a breath away, his eyes pools of midnight, drawing me in.

“It’s me,” he says softly. “Stop listening to everything else. Remember the way you feel when I’m kissing you and touching you. Don’t think with your head. You know me. And when my lips are on yours, you trust me.” As if to make his point, he dips his head and brushes his mouth over mine. Sparks fly between us. As always. “You trust me, when my hands are on your skin.” He runs his palms down my arms and then over to my waist where he pushes them up under the edge of my shirt. Chills break out down my back. “You trust me when you turn your mind off, when you just feel.”

The scorching tale of one girl, two brothers and a love triangle…that’s not. Olivia Townsend is nothing special. She’s just a girl working her way through college so she can return home to help her father run his business. She’s determined not to be the second woman in his life to abandon him, even if it means putting her own life on hold. To Olivia, it’s clear what she must do. Plain and simple. Black and white. But clear becomes complicated when she meets Cash and Nash Davenport. They’re brothers. Twins.

Cash is everything she’s always wanted in a guy. He’s a dangerous, sexy bad boy who wants her in his bed at any cost. He turns her insides to mush and, with just one kiss, makes her forget why he’s no good for her. Nash is everything she’s ever needed in a guy. He’s successful, responsible and intensely passionate. But he’s taken. Very taken, by none other than Marissa, Liv’s rich, beautiful cousin. That doesn’t stop Olivia from melting every time he looks at her, though. With just one touch, he makes her forget why they can never be together.

Black and white turns to shades of gray when Olivia discovers the boys are hiding something, something that should make her run as far and as fast as she can. But it’s too late to run. Olivia’s already involved. And in love. With both of them. Both brothers make her heart tremble. Both brothers set her body on fire. She wants them both. And they want her. How will she ever choose between them?

The worry over Cash coupled with the lyrics is enough to take my breath. Literally. For a few seconds I feel like I can’t breathe.

But then, suddenly, I can.

There, standing in the doorway of the office, is Cash. His eyes lock with mine and I feel them, really feel them all through my body. It’s like standing naked in the middle of the night during a warm summer rain. He’s everywhere. He’s on my skin, under my skin, in my heart, in my soul.

I feel like I might burst with the desire to go to him. It takes every ounce of my willpower to stay put, to school my expression. To pretend. But I do it. Somehow, I do it.

Until he starts toward me.

And then I stop. Stop everything. Stop moving, stop breathing, stop thinking. All I can do is stare as Cash’s long legs eat up the distance between us. Without a single word, he shoulders his way through the people standing around us. When he reaches me, he steps up to the bar, reaches across it and offers me his hand.

His eyes are still on mine and the rest of the world has disappeared. Suddenly it doesn’t matter who’s watching. Nothing matters but Cash. Nothing ever has. And nothing ever will again.

I slide my fingers into his and he tugs on my hand. I step onto the rail and put one knee on the bar. Cash releases my hand, reaches forward and sweeps me off the slick countertop and into his arms.

I can feel his breath, coming hot and fast, fanning my cheeks. I can feel his need, wild and hungry, searing my soul. And, for just a second, I think I can feel his love, too. It burns me, but in a completely different way. Like a brand that says I’ll always be his and he’ll always be mine.

And then he drops his head and his lips cover mine. Vaguely, I hear shouts and hollers and clapping, but I don’t care. I don’t care who sees or who knows or how they feel about it. I care about the man carrying me. Always carrying me.
