curled up on the cushions
afghan
tea
and frosty windowpane
the leather bounded parchment
exudes
an aroma
that beckons out your name
breathing in the magic
of words
ink
and prose
it’s hard to believe
such simple wonder
awaits just beneath
your nose
arbor
laden forests
diamonds
in the sand
pirates
queens
adventures
are yours to dream and command
will you sail
across the ocean
drink tea
with elizabeth or marie
dance in the moonlight
burn in the sun
make a wish or two
or three
words
are wishes on paper
of the heart’s
most fervent dream
but reality
is much grander than fantasy
and i hope
this day will bring
the fruition
or your story
the one you’ve longed
to lead
happiest days,
sweet manda
may it bring everything your heart
truly needs

B.L., this is a fantastic poem. Thank you very much for writing this for me. I love it.
You’re a real genuine lover Beth, a soul that can be relied upon at the darkest of times. Rare bird that tweets.
