Dog-shifters once again face the book-burning werewolves of Shipsfeather in this charming second installment of The Shapeshifters’ Library series.

Godiva Anglesey, Chocolate Labrador, and the ruggedly handsome English Mastiff Cynerik are forced to team up against power-hungry werewolves when Cynerik discovers an ancient Ohio mound that may hold answers to their shifter history. Knowing the mound’s secrets could benefit the dog-shifters in the ongoing contest for power, ambitious werewolf pack Alpha Sybilla challenges timid Godiva to a battle for the territory. Already faced with a malicious book-worm infestation and a censorship threat to ban all anthropomorphic books in her library, Godiva, who has no interest in battling anyone, must turn from running her small town library to train for a challenge she believes she has no chance of winning. Just when things couldn’t get any worse, Godiva’s mother announces that family tradition dictates that Godiva must be married by Summer Solstice… to a Druid. Godiva doesn’t even know any Druids.

Godiva wants to run her library, retrieve books for library patrons, and keep people happy. She’s no hero. She doesn’t have what it takes to face down werewolves or save the world. Cynerik, however, believes differently. Together they must defeat the werewolves, save the town and its library, protect the most important archeological discovery in dog-shifter history… and, just maybe, find love along the way.

Marry a Druid Excerpt
Gwynne Anglesey blew into her daughter’s office like a whirlwind, blue coat and scarf trailing behind her. Despite her speed, her golden hair remained neat, her old-fashioned braids wound atop her head. She stopped, took in her daughter, and embraced her with such force Godiva gasped.
“Mom. What are you doing here? You know I promised to visit soon.”
“Of course you did, but I missed you so much.” She stopped to look around. “What a lovely office. I’m so proud of you. Library Director of a public library. And I worried you’d have no ambition.”
“Mother, I didn’t apply for this job.”
“No matter, I hear you’re doing a wonderful job. Can we get coffee someplace?”
“Of course, but why are you here?”
“I had a meeting in Columbus and planned to pop in. Then I heard about the Challenge and wanted to wish you well. Coffee?”
As Godiva went to the staff lounge and poured her mother’s coffee, she tried to understand. The Challenge was devastating news and her mother had already heard and was just saying good luck? Back in her office, she set the cup before Gwynne and watched her take a sip. As much as her mother rushed around, she couldn’t be rushed.
At last, Gwynne smiled. “But now, for the real reason for my visit.”
“Whatever could be more important than the Challenge?”
“I’d hoped we could do a little shopping. It’s not too soon to pick out your trousseau.”
“My trousseau?” Her mouth fell open as it had so often when she was young and her mother surprised her.
“Well yes. My dressmaker will do the wedding gown, but I thought you and I could have some fun picking girly things.” Godiva laughed. “But I’m not getting married. You’d be
the first to know.”
“You don’t remember?” Gwynne looked disappointed. Godiva rubbed her forehead and smiled. “Mom, now that Caramel has had her triplets, are you sure becoming a grandmother hasn’t been too much for you?”
Gwynne’s cell phone rang. “Surely you remember. As the oldest daughter, you must marry a Druid by the Solstice or our family will be disgraced.” She listened, then hung up abruptly. “Emergency back in Pennsylvania. Got to run.” She kissed Godiva’s cheek and rushed out at the same speed as she came in.
