“One day I’m going to touch you in a thousand different ways and show you how to touch me,” he said.
And he did.
Struggling with a tormented past, undergraduate Olivia Winter once led a practical but isolated life. Then she met Professor Dean West, a brilliant scholar of medieval history who melted Liv’s inhibitions and taught her the meaning of both love and erotic pleasure. But after three years of a blissful, lusty marriage, Liv and Dean now face a crisis that threatens everything they believe about each other…and sex might not be enough to save them.

~ Yes’s 5-Star Review ~
I came across Arouse completely by accident. A friend on Goodreads “liked” a 5- star review, and it caught my attention. I read the blurb; and before I knew it, I was one-click buying on Amazon. So here goes my journey with a book that seemed so different than my usual reads, and it did not disappoint. For starters, there is no possessive, rich, alpha male who just has to have the sweet, innocent, virginal girl to mold and make his own. There are no whips and chains or games of cat and mouse. This is the story of a Dean and Olivia, a couple who have a fantastic marriage; they are in love and they are happy, until they aren’t.
“Since the day we met, I haven’t wanted anyone but you, never looked at another woman, never thought about one. It’s always been you Olivia”
From the very beginning, we understand their connection and we also witness how sexy and steamy a married couple can still be. Then it happens…a seemingly normal thing that most couples go through, have a conversation about, and move on. In this case, it wasn’t so. What it does is cause tension, unease, and for the first time in the five years they have been together, doubt. This understandably changes the course of their marriage.
“I love him to my bones, but suddenly I’m wondering what I might have been without him.”
They soon start to avoid each other. They don’t communicate and can’t seem to find a solution. Dean, in his desperation to make things better, confesses a secret he has been withholding from Olivia, thinking that it might help her understand his actions. Instead, it completely backfires; and because omission is still a form of a lie, it puts Dean and Olivia on a destructive path that will be very difficult for them to recover from. From that moment, a sense of betrayal clouds them, and there is jealousy, anger, sadness, and fear of the future
“I’ve given you all I have, all I am. You know that. Why didn’t you do the same for me?”
The author completely drew me into Dean and Olivia’s story, as well as their lives. It’s as if I were living it right along with them. From beginning to end, the journey is riveting; it pulls the reader in and doesn’t let go until the hopeful end. I now anxiously await book two, Allure (coming in May 14, 2013).
“Maybe this was meant to happen, this discovery of cracks where now a different, new light can shine through.”
