Synopsis
Alexis Sky Martine thinks of herself as the average girl-next-door that does what she has to do to get by, have fun and enjoy life.
She is madly in love with her sexy, drop-your-panties-at-first-sight, hottie boyfriend who is equally in love with her; more like downright obsessed. He treats her like she is his heart; like he needs her to exist; like he would do anything in his power to make her happy.
Lexi knows Landyn James loves her just as much as she loves him, if not more. Deep down, she also knows high school sweethearts aren’t expected to last, but their relationship is different. They are soul mates. Their connection is unbreakable.
What could possibly go wrong when you have love like that…?
Everything.
What will the future hold…?
Only time will tell.
Author’s Note: Contains Adult Content – Namely, a teenager-turned-woman with a very dirty mouth and fiery temper that may or may not know how to throw a punch. Also includes hot and steamy scenes, and a small glimpse into physical/verbal abuse.
Debbie’s Review
Lexi, Baby is a story of first loves, deception, trust, sacrifice, friendship, and family. It is a story of realizing that sometimes the things we deem to be true may not be what they seem. It is a story of protecting yourself and the ones you hold closest to your heart regardless of how these actions affect the ones we love.
“You’re so beautiful it hurts to look at you Lexi. Any marks our daughter left on your body only makes you that much sexier to me. I never thought I’d have another chance with you.”
The main characters in this book are Alexis (Lexi), Landyn (Lan), Patricia (Trish) and playing smaller but just as important roles in the story are Destiny and Ryan.
The author will have your complete attention by the time you finish reading page one of the prologue. The story itself will seep into your mind and the emotions you feel while reading this are vast.
You will feel your heart start to crumble as Lexi realizes all that she thought to be true about the man she loved and his devotion to her crumbles right before her eyes. Due to the choices Lexi makes, the life she envisioned no longer exists. You will feel the pain of her sacrifice, the happiness of her success, the struggles of keeping her secrets, and the heartache of letting go of your first love and opening your heart to a new love.
“He treated me like I was his heart; like he needed me to exist; like he’d do anything in his power to make me happy.”
This is a true and pure love story. A story of that makes us realize that sometimes what we believe to be the right thing to do is in fact wrong. A story of only seeing what we want to in people and never seeing the truth that stands in front of our eyes. A story of friendship and the lengths we go for the people we cherish the most. And a story where the lies we tell just may lead us to the happiness we deserve.
