Review:

Where do I even begin? I’ve been patiently waiting (and I mean, sitting on my hands trying not to tell Erin to please hurry) for this book to come out! 🙂 You all know how I felt reading Metamorphosis. That book was amazing and I was hungry for more of the trio that is Sam, Ash and Mason. Not even 5 min after receiving the ARC of Ambrosia, I locked the door and started reading! I just had to start it immediately!

So much happens in this second installment that I really don’t even know where to begin. Sam has definitely grown a little. She wants what she wants and she’s not afraid to get it. If you read the first book you know how it ends and all the surprises that come with it. The heartbreak we all felt when we read about Ash and the butterfly tattoo. AHH almost too much to take I could tear up even now! Ash was such a jerk but you still love him, and that’s why I love Erin’s writing. How could she create a character that makes me want to slap and kiss him at the same time?! Smh… Then there’s Mason *sigh* He’s always been by Sam’s side, giving her the attention she craves, and now it finally seems that they can be a couple. However, Ash isn’t letting Sam go until he explains himself, and as much as she wants to keep him away, she can’t deny the feelings she still has for him. Is it possible to love two people at the same time? Who knows, but these books will definitely make you think!

At the end of Book 1, I have to say I was Team Mason! *cue the cheers and applause* Now, at the end of Book 2, I have to say…I’m Team Ash! *cue the gasps and background cheers* haha AHH!! It’s so hard to choose but I love both guys and want them to each find their happy ending! Ambrosia is a fully loaded book that will surprise you! Metamorphosis was about Sam’s self-discovery and her transition into being an adult, and now in Ambrosia, Sam is transforming into a fierce, young woman. She’s a lot stronger and bolder because of her past struggles, and now she’s fighting for her happiness without trying to feel sorry for actions. Sam’s scared she’ll make the wrong decisions and acts brash sometimes (which drove me CRAZY), but she tries her hardest to follow her heart. Everyone makes mistakes but it’s how you deal with them that shows your growth.

There were a few times during reading that my jaw literally dropped because I didn’t see things coming. I can only emphasize that Sam is NOT the same girl from Metamorphosis. I’m hoping that in the next book we see a more mature Sam that finally makes a decision on who she wants to be with, or what she wants to do with her life. I’m hoping to see the bright spirit of Sam from Meta mixed with the passion of Sam from Ambrosia. This book seemed a little darker, which is understandable seeing as Sam felt like she lost everything while she was just starting to live on her own with Evie and then in a few months it’s all gone. She’s broken. Plain and simple. When she finally returns, she’s sure she’s made up her mind but things change. I saw glimpses of the old Sam, and that made me happy. I felt a lot of inner struggles and indecisiveness from her in this book but I knew it was coming. This isn’t the modest, but curious Sam we knew before. This is the vixen and provocative Sam who’s living in the moment, and trying to find herself in the process!

This was a great next installment in the lives of Scarlett, Mason and Ash. I think both Team Ash and Team Mason fans will enjoy this book! So anxious for Book #3: Euphoria! 🙂
