When it comes to sexy, viral, immortals, no one does it better than Kresley Cole. In her recent installment of Immortals After Dark: MacRieve, she focuses on Uilleam. (Yes, everyone in the book slaughters his name, therefore her goes my his surname.) The twins are know as ‘Hot and Hotter’ with MacRieve (Uilleam), the “Hotter” of the MacRieve identical Lykae twins, with Munro being the “Hot” one. Yes, they hate being called Hot and Hotter, but they argue about who is the “Hotter” one. Are you already lost? Shoot, I had better give you a background primer. (P.S. I know my proofreader is lost too, not a paranormal buff!)
Cole has built a world inhabited by a myriad of supernatural and mythological creatures from the Lore, as they refer to themselves. You name a mythological being and Cole has included it in her book series Immortals After Dark, which is one of the best paranormal fun series published. These books are like popcorn; you just don’t stop after one bite. They all are “Happily Ever After” but not without a few bumps in the road. Okay, maybe more than bumps or even potholes; the Grand Canyon comes to mind in some of the predicaments the immortals get themselves into.
The latest book MacRieve deals with a Lykae (werewolf) and his fated mate (in this case a mortal). Lykaes only get one shot at a mate, and they have to wait for her to appear. They can only have bairns (babies) with their mate. Oh, did I mention the Lykae are all sexy Scots. MacRieve’s mate just happens to be a trash talking, no-holds-barred woman’s soccer player named Chloe Todd aka Baby T-Rex in the pitch. One big problem– MacReive isn’t too stable since he is twisted by his past, and he just recently escaped from being held captive by humans who experimented on him and a bunch of other supernatural beings (Loreans). Plus, Chloe’s daddy happens to be a baddy; yes, these two crazy kids have some obstacles to overcome.
These books aren’t stand-alone reads, and you will need to read them from the beginning or you will be totally lost. If you are a paranormal fan who is into hot, steamy sex, then you need to invest your time into reading this series. If you are already a Kresley Cole fan, then MacRieves will not disappoint, as it is one riveting adventure. You will get to know why MacRieve is so twisted and why he may never be completely healed. This is one fated mating that is doomed from the start, and fate just seems to pile it on for these two mates. Plus surprise, suurrrpppriiissse, the Nucking Futs Nix has put it all into motion, imagine that.
