What would be on the soundtrack to DUKE OF MIDNGHT?

Elizabeth Hoyt: Well, I listened to quite a bit of Florence + The Machine while writing DUKE OF MIDNIGHT. Also, I find that Meatloaf’s “Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad” works really well for angsty love scenes.

What would be on the soundtrack to ONCE A RAKE?

Eileen Dreyer: Well, I hate to steal other people’s soundtracks, but I think my soundtrack would be a cross between the soundtrack for Sense and Sensibility, Last of the Mohicans (BEST chase scene music ever), and mix in a touch of the band Capercaille for the Celtic music, since Ian is a proud Scot. I guess I should also add the anthem about Bonnie Prince Charlie, Mo Ghile Mor by the Chieftans and Mick Jagger.

Soundtrack for the book by Lily Dalton

What would be on the soundtrack to NEVER DESIRE A DUKE?

Lily Dalton:

There are a lot of songs I connect with while writing, but my hero and heroine usually each have a “theme song” specific only to that book.

Claxton’s theme song is Imagine Dragons, Demons.

“Don’t get too close, it’s dark inside. It’s where my demons hide, it’s where my demons hide.”

The words and the tune are both a bit poignant and fit him perfectly. He wants Sophia so desperately, but he’s afraid that if he lets her too close, she won’t like what she sees because he’s damaged inside.

Sophia’s song is Metric’s Breathing Underwater.

“Is this my life? Am I breathing underwater?”

In the lyrics of this song, I hear a strong woman who is assessing her relationship, and while it’s good and “fine” she’s not going to settle for just fine. While Sophia’s relationship with Vane isn’t at all “fine”, in the Regency time period, she’d be expected to be a good girl and accept things as they were. Sophia doesn’t.

The Historic Hook Up Soundtrack Mash Up with a little nineteenth century music.
