In the first book of the Enthrall Sessions series, Enthrall, author Vanessa Fewings introduces us to sweet, innocent Mia Lauren as she begins a new job which places her in a world dramatically different from anything she’s ever known.  It’s a world of wealth, power and the darkness and light that are Richard Booth and Cameron Cole.  Cameron immediately envisions Mia as the perfect submissive for Richard hoping she can save him from his self-destructive behavior.

He was a respected psychiatrist and he’d also been the one to get me the job as secretary at Enthrall, L.A.’s elite S & M club.  A place where the rich played out their darkest fantasies.  Becoming Enthrall’s secretary had seen financial freedom for me as well as placing me on a fast track to maturity.

Mia quickly becomes enthralled by Richard, a man whose family history has brought him shame and forced him into hiding.  But when Mia learns that she also has a shameful family secret, Cameron decides that, as a psychiatrist, he must take over Mia’s training as a submissive in order to save her from her own past.

Richard and Cameron were best friends.  They told each other everything.  Life had been going along perfectly well, my relationship blossoming, my trust solidifying, our intimacy progressing.  It had been decided that I would become Richard’s submissive.  Days later my dream had been shattered.

We’d both been dealt a cruel hand.  Only Richard had survived his, guided through the healing process by Cameron.  A remarkable feat by a talented therapist.  Though Cameron’s unusual techniques were never discussed.  Nor would they ever be apparently.

In Enthrall Her, the author paints Cameron Cole as a compelling character whose physical beauty and ability to play mind games brings Mia into a dark form of therapy which he hopes will help her come to grips with her own demons and render her fit to be Richard’s submissive.

He was intoxicating. Any woman would be hard-pressed to refuse his advances if she were lucky enough to get his attention.  He oozed raw sexuality.  The get under your skin kind.  The stun you into silence kind.  Even the way he set his glass down on the side table reeked of control.

As Mia’s therapy becomes more intense, Cameron’s unique and unconventional methods help her to reach deeply into her subconscious and exhume long dead memories that will change her perception of her life.

The Enthrall Sessions series is an intriguing story which I think readers will find sometimes shocking, sometimes lighthearted and playful, and always darkly sensual.  Enthrall Her is not a standalone book. There is enough of the backstory to keep readers on track, but the character development begins in Enthrall, so by way of a warning, you won’t know these people unless you’ve read Enthrall. There is also an element of suspense in the storyline which builds from one book to the next.   Just as readers were teased with  a surprising revelation at the end of Enthrall, readers of Enthrall Her will also be surprised by the turn the story takes.  Not a traditional cliffhanger, the ending is very well done leaving readers anticipating what the next book will bring rather than saying “Did that just happen?” If you’re a fan of the trilogy format…then you’ll definitely want to treat yourself to Enthrall Sessions.
