I have been enslaved by the Eternal Guardian Series by Elisabeth Naughton.  Naughton’s series just gets better and better, she has pulled out all the stops in Enslaved, the story of Gyphon, the guardian rescued from the underworld in the previous book Enraptured.  Poor Gryphon suffered beyond imagination during his time in Tartarus and beyond. The abuse he suffered has darkened and deadened his very soul. He is trapped now in his own mind, while being pursued by evil.   Maelea, the daughter of Zeus and Persephone is Gryph’s love interest.  Yes, Naughton does have her own spin on greek mythology, but it works. The ancient Greeks played loosey goosey with facts so why shouldn’t a contemporary author.  So don’t get too caught up in Persephone parentage in legend, cause you would just go YUCK.

The story Naughton weaves one in which the hero must reclaim his life.  No he can’t undo what happened to him in Hell, but he can come to terms with it.  Maelea is a force to be reckoned with as she has been hunted for over three thousand years.  The story is romantic, soul stirring and engaging.

About Elisabeth Naughton

Before topping multiple bestseller lists—including those of the New York Times, USA Today, and the Wall Street Journal—Elisabeth Naughton taught middle school science. A rabid reader, she soon discovered she had a knack for creating stories with a chemistry of their own. The spark turned into a flame, and Naughton now writes full-time. Besides topping bestseller lists, her books have been nominated for some of the industry’s most prestigious awards, such as the RITA® and Golden Heart Awards from Romance Writers of America, the Australian Romance Reader Awards, and the Golden Leaf Award. When not dreaming up new stories, Naughton can be found spending time with her husband and three children in their western Oregon home.
