Maria & Yesi’s Thoughts:

“This kid grew up, ” he threatened in a deep voice, grinding his hard-on between my legs. “And you’re gonna fuckin’ find out.” ~ Jax

Maria: Oh my Lord! Can you say HOT? I must admit I was nervous for this book because I really loved Jax”s character. I had high expectations and I wasn’t sure how I felt about KC or KC with Jax for that matter. My anxiety was for nothing because Penelope Douglas exceeded my expectations.

Yesi: Going in I had huge reservations. KC? Not a fan and Jax, while I liked him, I wasn’t 100% sold yet. With that being said, though, I had complete faith in Penelope Douglas’ ability to tell a compelling story and she more than delivered.

Maria: I went in thinking KC wasn’t good enough for Jax. But, the character development was fantastic. I found myself liking KC and even rooting for her. She had a hard childhood. And Jax? My heart broke for him. He was so damaged.

Yesi: Both KC and Jax had a difficult home life. I began to understand early on where KC was coming from and my heart felt for her. And poor Jax. I began to like KC pretty quick and Jax, well ell, he sure did grow up! Sexy as sin and smart, too.

Maria: I really liked the way KC grew into her own. She had issues but learned how to deal and be true to herself. One of the things that resonated was how they both discover that they were worthy of love and to be loved for themselves.

Yesi: Yes! I totally agree. They were perfect for each other. I enjoyed the push and pull, even though Jax was an ass at times. I think KC needed that. He brought her out, so to speak.

Maria: I found myself liking his assiness.  Their chemistry was off the charts. The build up and tension was fantastic. Jax was intense and so sexy.

Yesi: Oh my GAAAWWWDDD! The chemistry was palpable and when they come together? Freaking explosive! This book was definitely Penelope Douglas’ sexiest one yet.

Maria: ABSOFREAKINGLUTELY!! They were HAWT! Jax and his mouth…so alpha.

“I want you,” I whispered. “I want your sweat on my skin, your tongue in my mouth, and your cock filling me up, Jax. I’m yours….I was only ever yours.” ~ KC

Maria: Dayum….I have to add that I also enjoyed all the characters. The depiction of the relationship between Jared and Jax was very good. It was real, honest. Jared trying to be there but Jax only letting him in to a point.

Yesi: Yes, I liked the dynamics of their relationship, too. Plus Madoc was his usual awesome self. Lol

Maria: Madoc was great! I love their bromance and how they are there for each other.

Yesi: Overall…captivating and sexy! I changed my tune on KC and fell hard for Jax.

Maria: Engaging and hot! This story had it all; humor, emotion, great banter, angst, sexy times, a swoon worthy hero and a pretty cool heroine. Jax and KC give Tate and Jared a run for their money.

As for the teaser from Aflame, we’re not commenting on it but rather waiting for the book and getting the whole story. This was Jax and KC’s story. And it was awesome.

“He was mine and I was his, and the next time the little shit threw his temper around or shut down on me, I was going to either push him harder or pull away for good. Push and pull. Give and take. Accelerate. Release.” ~ KC

Still having a hard time believing that K.C. got her own story. Still kinda disliked her… *sigh* *still on the after-effect of Bully* *pat myself -who’s still in the middle of Rival- on the back*
But this review is so intriguing! With you are all squealing like that… now, I’m so eager to finish Rival soon! ><
    Thanks for the chance! <3
