A Stone in the Sea by A.L. Jackson has got to be one of the most beautifully written books that I have ever read. This author had me completely captivated from the very beginning. Honestly, I went in totally blind. I had no preconceived notions and other than reading the synopsis, I had no idea what to expect. So needless to say, I was blown away by the beauty in the writing, the haunting storyline, and two very complex characters that you couldn’t help but love. If there is one book out there that will not only have totally immersed but also fully invested, it is this one. This is Sebastian and Shea’s story and it is breathtaking…

From the moment we meet Sebastian Stone we learn quite a bit…he is troubled, he is in some serious sh*t, yet we also learn that he loves fiercely and despite his current situation, as a reader, you know instantly that you are going to fall hard. And boy did I fall…WOW. Sebastian is hiding away in Savannah, GA with his band mates. His only job is to lay low and stay out of trouble. And up until the moment he meets Shea Bentley he seems to be right on track. Shea is a beautiful, kind, girl who works at her uncle’s bar. One night Sebastian wanders into said bar and from then on…it’s ON. Shea is the first girl who isn’t fawning all over Sebastian and his rockstar status, actually she has no idea who he is. The events that follow their first meeting lead into one of the most intriguing and lovely stories out there.
“I’m going to break you Shea.” I knew it. Felt it in my gut. “You already have.”
Neither Sebastian nor Shea are in any kind of position to be in a romantic relationship. Their past, the present, and what the future may hold is like a dark cloud and it has them resisting their insane attraction to each other. But of course they give in and good LORD when they finally do…HOTNESS overload! There is so much depth to these characters so when secrets threaten to surface, it is best to hold on tight! This book had me on an emotional overdrive from beginning to end and when I was done I felt empty. I cannot recommend A Stone in the Sea enough and if you have never read a book by A.L. Jackson, let this one be your first, I promise, you will not be disappointed.
