Or the taste of his kiss from her lips? No matter how hard Haddie tries to forget about him, Becks relentlessly tries to prove that she should start living for today. But she is determined to avoid romantic commitment, and she can always use her ex-boyfriend’s reappearance to help snuff out the slow burn within her that Becks has sparked.... Maria Thoughts

I had been waiting for this book for what seemed like forever. I loved the Driven trilogy. Colton was just awesome but there was something about Beckett Daniels. As Colton’s best friend, he caught my attention quickly. When it was announced that he’d be getting a book, I was ecstatic. Once I had Slow Burn in my hands, I couldn’t wait to read it. It was everything I hoped for and more than I expected. This novel can be read as a stand alone. Colton and Rylee make appearances, no major spoilers. This is Haddie and Beckett’s story. And it’s fantastic.

“What the heart wants, the heart takes…even when it knows the owner won’t allow it.” ~  Hadddie Montgomery

Beckett Daniels is a quiet, sexy, thoughtful good ‘ol country boy. Haddie Montgomery is beautiful, feisty, sexy and closed off. They are friends because of their best friends….until one night when everything changes and their worlds are turned upside down.

“City, I assure you, I have talents that can’t be put on a resume.” ~ Beckett Daniels

The banter between the characters is funny, charged and fluid. While I love the dialogue between Becks and Haddie, I cannot leave out the continued bromance that is Colton and Beckett. I love those two together. They are hysterical. K. Bromberg also does a wonderful job of building sexual tension and attraction so thick, it’s palpable.  And can she write steam!!! Hotter than asphalt in the summertime!! Beckett may be country but man, does he take charge! Two words: wall sex!  The push / pull between our hero and heroine was great but had me wanting to shake the heroine at times.

“I know how to make this hot-as-fuck body of yours tremble, tense, and beg or more…so lie back, and let me taste you.” ~ Beckett Daniels

But this is more than just about great sex and even their relationship. This story is so much more. It’s a heartbreaking journey that breaks down walls and opens up hearts. It has humor, angst and emotion. It touches upon family ties, deep friendships and facing fears. Fans of the Driven series and tis genre are sure to fall for Haddie and Beckett. I know I did.

About K. Bromberg

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author K. Bromberg is that reserved woman sitting in the corner who has you all fooled about the wild child inside of her—the one she lets out every time her fingertips touch the computer keyboard.

K. lives in Southern California with her husband and three children. When she needs a break from the daily chaos of her life, you can most likely find her on the treadmill or with Kindle in hand, devouring the pages of a good, saucy book.

On a whim, K. Bromberg decided to try her hand at this writing thing. Her debut novels, Driven, Fueled, and Crashed of The Driven Trilogy were well received and went on to become multi-platform bestsellers as well as landing on the New York Times and USA Today lists. Her other works include a short story, UnRaveled, and a companion piece to The Driven Trilogy titled Raced. She is currently working on three stand alone Driven novels, Slow Burn, Sweet Ache, and Hard Beat. She also plans to release a novel addressing the 10 year gap at the ending of Crashed in late fall 2015
