Love will launch the mother of all battles.

Grateful Knight is one stressed out witch. Not only has she failed to restore her caretaker, Rick, from an evil witch’s mind-control spell, but the loss he endured extends well beyond his memory. To make matters worse, compensating for his absence could cost her the job she loves and the strength she needs.

When a new supernatural threat leaves Grateful for dead, a vampire ally saves her life but at a price. Her assailant's calling card makes it clear she’s marked for death, possibly by her goddess mother. With the help of her half-sister Polina, can Grateful gain the power she needs to win Rick back and beat the goddess at her own game?

Review by Karen

Mother May I by Genevieve Jacks is an utterly charming paranormal romance. When I read one of Jack’s Knight Games books, I expect, paranormal adventure, romance, plenty of danger and a cast of characters to keep me entertained. Mother May I fulfilled all these criteria of a solidly written Jack’s book.

This book is number four in the series and the last of the Knight Games books to date. The way in which the book was wrapped up,  does give Jack’s enough wiggle room for her to comeback to her characters at a later date.   In my estimation  paranormal, fantasy and urban fantasy books are the genres that can hold their own as prolonged  series and Jack’s does an excellent job of not rehashing plot points that were covered in prior books.   Mother May I, picks up three weeks after the end of Queen of the Hill. Rick, the love of Grateful Knights life, still does not remember her, after being drugged, spelled and to my estimation sexually assaulted while drugged.   Rick does not have access to his Caretaker magic.  Life is a mess for Grateful Knight ER nurse and witch. Her territory has expanded and she is pretty much doing it all on her own. Okay, not all on her own, her trusty sidekick familiar Poe the Raven is around. He keeps her on her toes with his adoration. NOT. I adore the snarky Poe. I have decided that snarky talking ravens should be a required element in a book to keep the characters egos from getting over blown.  Nothing ever goes easy for Grateful, as she and her gang are running for their lives from the start.

As with all of Jack’s previous books I highly recommend this title. As Jack’s is a undiscovered treasure in the paranormal genre.   Her first book in the series is free, and for free  readers are not risking anything to try out Jack’s book.  Give her a whirl, kick her tires, a complete test drive and you will be hooked, like I am.
