Maria’s and Yesi’s Thoughts

#CONFESSYOURTRUTH

Maria

OMG….that will never be the same

I’ll always think of Owen Mason Gentry

Yesi

I thought that was a super original play on words and acronyms…well done Colleen! Definitely never the same again.

Maria

Agreed. I also loved the confessions….how original to use that and make them his muse

Yesi

Yes, an original concept that made for a very unique story. I LOVED the confessions and art aspect in this story. Brilliant concept.

Maria

I really was engaged the whole time….twists and turns I didn’t see coming.

I loved their initial meeting outside his door…it was funny and cute

Yesi

For me it started off with a heart-wrenching bang in the prologue, totally got my attention in the first few chapters, especially after their first meeting, definitely enough to make me fall for Owen, but then somewhere in the middle it lost me a bit. I LOVED Owen and the mystery that surrounded him.  I also was intrigued by the twist to Auburn’s story. All of that together made me want to root for them, but the way it was executed left some to be desired.

Yesi

Their connection and their chemistry was palpable. It felt like either one would explode at any moment and I was just waiting for it to happen.

I loved the dual POV btw!

How will you paint me if I’m not there? ~ Auburn

I’ll paint you from memory. ~ Owen

*** sigh ***

Maria

I agree, I was hooked from the first page….Colleen always manages to make me ugly cry. I loved Adam and Auburn. My heart ached. Then, Owen? I knew I was going to love him! And I did. What a fantastic character… mysterious, hot, creative and so intuitive. I had mixed feelings about Auburn but ultimately, I liked her.

She found her strength in her love for Owen and the kind of person she wanted to be

Dual POV is my favorite, especially when it’s done right, as Hoover did

Yes their connection was palpable…the chemistry and tension alive on the pages

Yesi

I think mixed feeling is accurate and yes, I ultimately liked her but her decisions and actions drove me insane. The mystery aspect to what was going in Owen’s life too kept me intrigued and captivated. I wanted to know everything about him.

Maria

I didn’t like how weak she was, regardless of the reason. She needed to be stronger. I understood but wanted to shake her

Yes…I thought I had Owen figured out but wow I was close not what I expected

Yes, wanting to know his secret, his confession kept me reading all night

Yesi

Exactly! At one point I was yelling at my kindle hoping to get through to her! LOL! Always go with your gut and unfortunately in this case Auburn didn’t and it killed me. She was such a strong young woman and I wanted and expected so much more from her.

Maria

Yessss she had great instincts but didn’t follow them because of fear.

I loved her roommate. She was so funny and protective.

Yesi

As for Owen, he had so many layers to him and it was sheer pleasuring peeling at them in each and every chapter. By the time I hit the epilogue I thought, no way can I love him more…yeah, I was wrong. That epilogue was stellar! Epic. Perfect.

Maria

Hated Trey and Lydia!!!! Hoover wrote great antiheroes.

Yesi

Loved the roommate! Hated those two as well, and LOVED Adam!

Maria

Yes Owen was a treat to be relished, a hidden treasure. He was so deep….the things he did…wow….from the start. Epilogue was amazing!!! Blew me away. Adam and Owen…loved them…how lucky could Auburn be to have them both in her life???

Owen and Adam were both awesome. Both protective, loving and wanting the best for Auburn. Her happiness over their own.

Two unbelievable men at different points of her life….each what she needed exactly at that time.

Yesi

With each knew Colleen Hoover book I am continually blown away by her writing and originality. Confess may not be may favorite Colleen Hoover book but I still have to say… WOW, well done.

Maria

I love Hoover’s continued ability to write amazing original stories, each with a unique concept, such as the beautiful art in this book. She is extremely talented.
