He’s a player in more ways than one…

College junior John Logan can get any girl he wants. For this hockey star, life is a parade of parties and hook-ups, but behind his killer grins and easygoing charm, he hides growing despair about the dead-end road he’ll be forced to walk after graduation. A sexy encounter with freshman Grace Ivers is just the distraction he needs, but when a thoughtless mistake pushes her away, Logan plans to spend his final year proving to her that he’s worth a second chance.

Now he’s going to need to up his game…

After a less than stellar freshman year, Grace is back at Briar University, older, wiser, and so over the arrogant hockey player she nearly handed her V-card to. She’s not a charity case, and she’s not the quiet butterfly she was when they first hooked up. If Logan expects her to roll over and beg like all his other puck bunnies, he can think again. He wants her back? He’ll have towork for it. This time around, she’ll be the one in the driver’s seat…and she plans on driving him wild.

I am totally loving these college romances featuring the smart girl and sexy jock! Elle Kennedy hit it out of the park for me with Garrett and Hannah in The Deal and her follow up, The Mistake, was not far behind.

In The Deal we met John Logan and even though he was a genuinely nice guy, he harbored feelings for his best friend’s girl and that’s a no no. Logan’s feelings for Hannah spill over into his story in The Mistake. In addition to trying to get over her, he has to deal with a familial responsibility that could keep him from pursuing his dream of being drafted into the NHL.

Grace Ivers despite being aware of “stranger danger” finds herself hanging out with Logan and enjoying it. An innocent night of action movie watching and Gummi Bears turns into more than Grace ever expected.

“What are you doing?” I whisper.

“Well, you were looking at me like you wanted me to kiss you.” His blue eyes become heavy-lidded. “So I was thinking I might do that.”

“Unless I misread the moment?” he prompts.

I’m miraculously able to produce an entire sentence in response. “I want you to kiss me.”

A smile curves his lips. Lips that are getting closer and closer to my lips. Inches away. Millimeters away. And then his mouth brushes mine, and holy shit, I’m kissing John Logan.

When the heated make-out session ends with his orgasm, Grace is left confused and well…unsatisfied. Logan doesn’t know what to do with that so he practically runs from her room. For days it bothers him, he doesn’t like how he left things. He couldn’t take wondering anymore if she faked it.

“This is priceless. Big stud on campus couldn’t make a girl come. You’ve officially given me enough ammo to rag on you for years.”~~~Dean

I’ve got moves damn it. Women know that when they hook up with John Logan, they’re going to leave with a satisfied smile on their faces, and it drives me crazy thinking that Grace might’ve been unsatisfied. It’s been gnawing at me for days. Days damn it. Leaving a girl wanting isn’t just embarrassing. It’s unacceptable. ~~~Logan

Logan redeems himself and they become friends, but the night Grace offers up her V-card to Logan he makes a big mistake and Grace throws him out. At some point Logan gets his head out of his ass and realization hits as to what and WHO he really wants and that’s when the fun begins. This is a great follow-up to The Deal and I enjoyed the hotness that was Logan along with his hilarious teammates. This is a great series so if you haven’t read The Deal yet, get on it and move right along into The Mistake.   Now bring on Dean’s book!
