An unexpected fresh start leads to an unlikely-but-absolutely-perfect pairing in this male/male new-adult novel from bestselling gay romance author K.A. Mitchell

Ethan may have followed his high school sweetheart to college only to get dumped his first day there, but he's not going to let that stop him from exploring all his new life has to offer. Sex-only hookups, his photography, new friends and a campus-wide game of zombies vs humans all help keep his mind off his broken heart and move him toward building a new, better life without his ex.
And then there's Wyatt. Mysterious, grouchy—hot. And possibly not gay. But Ethan's not going to let that stand in the way of figuring out what makes Wyatt tick. New college goal? Get Wyatt into bed and into Ethan's life.
Step one: arrange a "tutoring" date. Step two: "accidentally" bump into Wyatt as often as possible. Step three: explore the sexy body under that ever-present hoodie. And when their friendship deepens into something neither of them expect, convince Wyatt he's not just a pity fling or a one-time hookup, but that Ethan is in it for the long haul.
This book is approximately 43,000 words.

Yesi’s Thoughts

I am super selective when it comes to M/M romance novels so when I came across this one, it just called out to me. I absolutely love the new adult genre and the synopsis for this one was just right up alley. I am so glad that I took a chance. Getting Him Back has all of the elements that make new adult stories so entertaining. I loved the college setting, the premise of boy following boy to college only to have his heartbroken almost as soon as he gets there.

It was going to be me and Blake and our awesome lives. With Blake, I’d be somebody at Coborn, like it had been back in high school.

The whole reason I’d come to this stupid place was to be Blake St. Pierre’s boyfriend.

Who the fuck was I if I wasn’t that anymore?

Poor Ethan, my heart broke for him. Of course this had to happen for the book to actually to take off but still, my heart hurt. This is my first book by K.A. Mitchell and I can say with certainty that it will not be my last. I enjoyed how she introduced the characters, how she got the break up out of the way early on, and got the story moving along quickly. I also LOVED when Wyatt entered the picture. I have to say that he is one of most unique characters that I have ever read. His quiet calmness, his almost dark, but mainly moody self, really had me intrigued and wanting to know everything about him. About his rough life, his daily struggles, and his ability to make everything better whether he knew it or not. And it has to be said… HOLY HOTNESS, the chemistry between Ethan and Wyatt is off the charts!

The bottom line is… if you like new adult, if you like heartwarming and sexy, yet angsty and drama-filled, then Getting Him Back is the book for you. Throw in some humor, a begging ex, and you have a great read on your hands! I am so looking forward to the next installment.
