From the author of the New York Times bestselling Bad Boys novels comes another dark, sexy story...   Is she brave enough to give her heart to a man she only thought she knew?   He was the most charismatic man I'd ever met. Strong, tough, brave. Bold as hell. Something told me Tag Barton could have anything--anyone--he wanted...and he wanted me. It didn't matter that he was wrong for me in practically every way possible. It didn't matter that my father would hate it.   I couldn't resist him. Even if I'd known who he really was and what he was really capable of.   When he suggested we pretend to be engaged, I thought he was the answer to all my problems. He wasn't. And, in his wake, he left nothing but scorched earth and me, just another casualty of my father's war.   Can I believe him now when he tells me he loves me?  Or is he nothing more than a beautiful, breathtaking lie?

~ Maria’s Review ~

“Some of life’s most beautiful things come at unexpected times, and in unexpected ways.”

TAG. He is going to be your next book boyfriend. He is sexy, charming, funny and hiding something. But he’s just what Weatherly needs to take her mind off her troubles. Or is he just another problem waiting to take her under?

“I know I’m playing with fire. Within minutes of meeting Tag today, I quickly surmised he’s dangerous. To hearts, to minds. Certainly to panties. Mine feel in danger of combusting just by watching him, for heaven’s sake.”

Brave Enough is the third book in the Tall, Dark and Dangerous series. However, it could be read as a standalone. This installment focuses on Tag and Weatherly.  Two characters that could not be more different. Yet, they connect. Their is no insta-love but there is some serious insta-lust. Their banter is fraught with sexual innuendo and palpable tension. I liked the back and forth. It wasn’t a will they or won’t they, more like a when.

M. Leighton knows how to write a leading man. Alpha, hot with just enough bad boy charm and vulnerability that one can’t help fall in love. Weatherly isn’t the strongest female lead but she’s no damsel in distress. She comes into her own nicely. Author M. Leighton also knows how to write a sex scene. Any fan of her work will undoubtedly agree that most of her books will have that one HAWT, unforgettable steamy moment. Don’t get me wrong, she writes more than one, but come on, you know what I mean, VIP Room in Up To Me, Body Shot in Down To You, Lemonade in Until I Break, Camping in Some Like It Wild. Well, Tag is not being left out. Let’s just say he takes getting down and dirty to a whole other level. Playing in the rain isn’t just for kids.

Brave Enough is a quick read with just the right amount of drama and romance. The pacing is good. The characters are great and I wanted them to get their HEA. There’s a twist I wasn’t expecting just when I thought I had it figured out. Author M. Leighton likes to make you wonder. Fans of the series and of her writing will not be disappointed.
