"This book has it all: A heroine full of spunk and spark, a hero full of mystery and masculinity, and an epic story full of intrigue and action. You will fall in love these delicious characters. This book is utterly breathtaking! Fantasy romance at its finest!"—Darynda Jones, New York Times bestselling author of the Charley Davidson series
KINGDOMS WILL RISE AND FALL FOR HER..."Cat" Catalia Fisa lives disguised as a soothsayer in a traveling circus. She is perfectly content avoiding the danger and destiny the Gods-and her homicidal mother-have slapped her with. That is, until Griffin, an ambitious warlord from the magic-deprived south fixes her with his steely gaze and upsets her illusion of safety forever.
BUT NOT IF SHE CAN HELP IT Griffin knows Cat is the Kingmaker, the woman who divines the truth through lies. He wants her as a powerful weapon for his newly conquered realm-until he realizes he wants her for much more than her magic. Cat fights him at every turn, but Griffin's fairness, loyalty, and smoldering advances make him increasingly hard to resist and leave her wondering if life really does have to be short, and lived alone.

Karen’s Review

Do you like fantasy romances with fiery and funny heroines written in first person? Want to experience a sexy warlord with loyalty and heart? Wanting a new twist on Greek Mythology that is unique and has solid world building included?  Want to get a jump being in the know when a author is about to take the book world by storm? Then you need to put A Promise of Fire by Amanda Bouchet on your fantasy romance must read list.  The debut novel of The Kingmakers Chronicles doesn’t hit shelves until August 2nd, but this is a author and series that should not be missed. The book has heart, snark, great characters, and superb world building. So if C.L. Wilson, Darynda Jones, Grace Draven and Anne Bishop are your ‘go to’ authors you really need to get this author and book onto your reading radar.  This author hits every note in the musical orchestra that makes up a good fantasy romance, she has the complete melody and doesn’t skip any of the nuisances to propel both the romance and the adventure plot forward into a powerful crichendo. I can’t wait to see where this series takes her characters, as this is only book one in the series, but she writes a complete book as any good author should when starting a series.  The major reason you should read this book is that the author really has her characters connect on an emotional level, it is books that have me on an emotional level that I remember, this is a memorable book.  Bouchet connected not just the main protagonist, but every character are fleshed out even those only recounted via character’s experiences.  Bouchet world building had me enthralled from the very beginning and I highly recommend this book.

About Amanda Bouchet

Amanda Bouchet grew up in New England where she spent much of her time tromping around in the woods and making up grand adventures in her head. It was inevitable that one day she would start writing them down. Drawing on her Greek heritage for the setting and on her love of all things daring and romantic for the rest, her debut trilogy, The Kingmaker Chronicles, took form. She writes what she loves to read: epic exploits, steamy romance, and characters that make you laugh and cry.

A French master’s graduate and former English teacher, Amanda lives in Paris, France. She met her husband while studying abroad, and the family now includes two bilingual children who will soon be correcting her French.
