~ Maria’s Thoughts ~

This book had me like what did I just read! It is dark, twisted, crazy and addicting. Wake To Dream is a mindf*** of epic proportion.  Every page had me asking more questions and, with every answer discovered, more questions and predictions made. Very detailed and descriptive, written in present / past style but not truly flashbacks. I cannot begin to describe the story. Is it real? Is it a dream? Is it both? I felt like I had fallen down the rabbit hole.

The characters are intriguing and complex. Alice is conflicted, confused and sympathetic. She is also strong but broken. Max is darkness personified. He is evil, sinister, dangerous but so very charming. Perfect predator with Alice, his perfect prey. But does he love her? Is it a ruse? What is driving him? So many questions, I just had to keep reading.

The story is intense, suspenseful, thrilling; a mystery to solve, a puzzle to put together. Author Lily White gives enough clues to keep you guessing before dropping the final boom. And it is an OMG moment. Fans of Lily White and of dark stories will not be disappointed. Definitely recommend but not for the faint of heart.
