***This is the fourth book in the series. First three books must be read first in order to understand this story line.***
I was a pawn. Weak and someone easily manipulated. To be played with as he saw fit. Until YOU.
YOU shone light in my now dark world. It was YOU who made me smile. For the first time in this game, I had hope. All because of YOU.
The more powerful pieces on the board, however, were a threat to YOU and me. They would win at any cost. Two kings ruling with an iron fist. Allies or opponents, it was hard to tell.
YOU promised to save me. Told me we would win.
But then I was on the wrong side of the board. This isn't YOU, baby. And I don't know what to do.
The game is almost over and I'm counting on YOU. Tick, tock...
Warning: This Isn’t You, Baby is a dark romance. Strong sexual themes, excessive drug use, and violence, which could trigger emotional distress, are found in this story. If you are sensitive to dark themes, then this story is not for YOU.
This story will make YOU smile. This story will make YOU angry. This story will make YOU crazy.
I hope YOU love it, baby.

“I’ll fight for you from here on out. You’re mine now.”
I need to be honest here. This Isn’t You, Baby by K. Webster is book 4 in her War & Peace series. Author K. Webster is new to me. I read her standalone Dirty, Ugly Toy and was amazed. Then I read Pretty Stolen Dolls, which she co-wrote with author Ker Dukey. Again, I was blown away. So when presented with the opportunity to read an ARC for This Isn’t You, Baby, I jumped on it. No hesitation. I didn’t realize it was part of a series. I’m OCD about reading a series in order. That being said, author K. Webster does such a phenomenal job with this story that I read it thinking it was a standalone. Ms. Webster gives enough information that I didn’t feel like I was missing anything or lost. Yet, not so much that it spoiled things for me because once I realized this was a series, I binge read all 3 previous books in less than two days!! O. M.G…what a fantastic series!
“Love is strange, baby. It comes in all different forms and sizes.”
This Isn’t You, Baby is fast paced, keep you on the edge of your seat, page turning reading. I was captivated. Read it from cover to cover, stopping only to take deep breaths, when author K. Webster blew my mind with unexpected events. It is Brie’s story. Loved her character. She is smart, beautiful, strong yet vulnerable. My heart breaks for her and everything she endures. Her story is raw, gritty and harsh. I loved both Ren and Duvan. Wasn’t sure who I wanted Brie to end up with. Both are gorgeous, smart and sexy in their own right. But Ren is much younger than Duvan, as is Brie. Ren is sweet, hot, charming, protective but hiding things from her. Very important things. Duvan is worldly, cunning, dangerous, sensual and skilled. It was hard but I knew who I wanted for her.
“I’m going to love you until your heart stops bleeding from all the deep lacerations you’ve endured, that life has so cruelly inflicted.”
The jury is still out on Gabe’s character. Pretty much a sadistic, cold bastard but there’s something about him. He’s in and out of this story, as it focuses on Brie. Still there are so many evil, vile characters, it’s hard to pick the one I despised most. Just when you think it can’t get any darker, Author K. Webster takes it to another level. Heart-pounding, incredible, hold my breath while I read, moments. And that ending?! Holy crap!! I’m so glad there’s going to be a follow up to Brie’s story because it could not end like that! This book is such a thrill ride, with so many twists and turns and a darkness that was intense.
K. Webster has quickly become a favorite author for me. She is unexpected, creative, fluid, dark and twisty yet romantic. I love that. This book and this series is not for the delicate, faint of heart. There are some seriously messed up, disturbing, violent graphic scenes and themes. If you like dark romance and can handle intense situations, this is a series for you. I loved it and highly recommend it.
