The Player knocks it out of the park. I loved it. Great story with an ending that left me wanting more. The Player is book 1 of a duet and I cannot wait to see how it ends.

Author K. Bromberg writes a story that is the perfect mix of angst, romance and sweetness. It kept me reading and trying to figure out the connection between certain characters.

I loved Easton’s character. He is a cocky, sexy, gorgeous baseball player who lives up to the name of the book. He meets our heroine, Scout, while battling an injury. The attraction is instant but I love that it’s not insta-love. Author K. Bromberg builds the burn. Their banter is funny, sarcastic and snarky. Some of Easton’s lines had me laughing out loud, especially because I know men who could have, would have, and have, used them. I love that he doesn’t take himself too seriously, and can laugh at himself too. I liked Scout’s character, too. She was not a vapid athlete groupie. She is smart, professional, and beautiful. She did frustrate me at times because I wanted her to get out of her own way. But, both the characters have their issues that they have to overcome while figuring out what their attraction means. I was totally invested in them and want them to get their HEA.

Things seem to be going well. They face some bumps but help each other through their baggage. However, just when you think all is falling into place, author K. Bromberg throws a curve ball and has me saying WTH! Add that ending and I’m ready for book 2 now. Highly recommend, especially if you like sports romance, hot baseball players or romance in general. Fans of K. Bromberg will not be disappointed. I know I wasn’t!
