Author K. Webster always delivers a fantastic, suspenseful, dark, twisted story. And I love it. Notice is no exception. Terrific plot and great characters make this an intense, disturbing read. I actually squirmed in discomfort at some scenes and questioned my sanity and sense of morality. It was that good.
I really liked Violet, our heroine. She was strong, beautiful and smart. But, she was also vulnerable, scared, and a little dark herself. She is inexplicably drawn to our hero, Grayson. Grayson is sexy, obsessive, smart, dangerous, and charming. Violet is just background to him…until, she isn’t. Then, the plot thickens. Once he notices her, sees her truly, she is in his sights and he is single-minded in his pursuit. It’s a little freaky, scary, and creepy. For someone who was in a toxic, abusive relationship before, you’d think she’d recognize the warning signs. But, remember, I said he is charming and seductive, and did I mention HOT? Her attraction to him has her ignoring those alarm bells. Plus, he is good. Careful and invisible, like a ghost in his stalking.
There are some raw, graphic scenes that had me cringing. The things Grayson does, his obsession is insane. I should have wanted her to get away from him because he was fucked up and kind of crazy. But, he was romantic, sexy, kind, and protective. He had a reason he was the way he was, more than one, actually. He wanted her safe and happy. So, I found myself wanting her to be with him, to be a couple and get their HEA. I must admit, if this were reality, I’d be calling 911, but, it’s fiction. Romance. Dark romance with the added bonus of suspense and hair raising tingles on the back of my neck. And it is sooo good.
Notice is author K. Webster at her best. Again. A story that is removed from reality. Like a criminal minds episode with a twist. The monsters aren’t always who you think. And sometimes, the monsters are the heroes. This book has twists and turns, steamy sex, with some drama thrown, too . They had witty, sarcastic and sexually charged banter, making me laugh at times, when I shouldn’t. I was captivated and intrigued, turning pages as fast as I could, reading from cover to cover. I loved it.
Fans of K. Webster and dark romance/ suspense will not be disappointed. I wasn’t. Highly recommend.
