In this second of the sultry, Western-set Coming Home series from New York Times bestselling author Harper Sloan, Quinn Davis might finally have a shot at her own happily-ever-after—but will she let love in, or will she tell it to go ahead and kiss her boots?

Quinn Davis prefers to live her life quietly. She’s the stereotypical tomboy with two overprotective big brothers who have always been there to protect her, especially from devilishly handsome cowboys with silver tongues. That is, until Tate Montgomery comes riding into town. Their first meeting, however, is far from something out of a fairy tale and only further convinces Quinn that men aren’t worth her time.

The only place Tate Montgomery ever truly felt at home growing up was during the long, sweltering summer months he spent at his Gram and Paw’s farm in Pine Oak, Texas. Now, Tate has returned to his childhood sanctuary seeking a fresh start—but if he’s being entirely honest, he’s not just back for the wranglers and Stetsons. During those summers, Quinn was a friend-turned-young-love who Tate lost when life threw him a curveball and he cut all ties to his past; but all it takes is one glance at the raven-haired beauty he did his best to forget for him to realize just how much he’s been missing….

Yesi’s Thoughts

As a longtime fan of Harper Sloan I as a bit surprised when I read that she was releasing a “Western Romance” novel titled Lost Rider. In my mind I pictured old western movies in which I have no interest in. I know, I’m a bit ridiculous like that. 🙂  I don’t even think I read the synopsis… then a fellow blogger and trusted reading buddy says “I’m reading Lost Rider and I am loving it!” and that got me thinking… why am I being narrow minded just because of the word “western” and I decided to give it a go. Oh my gosh, I am so glad I did!!! I ended up loving Lost Rider and couldn’t wait for Kiss My Boots! It turned into one of my most anticipated books of the summer.

So here I am now recommending this series, set in my awesome state of Texas. While I did enjoy Lost Rider just a bit more, Kiss My Boots is still a beautiful second chance romance filled with the right blend of angst, sexiness, and lighthearted humor between Tate and Quinn. Tate is determined to win his first love back doing whatever it takes and Quinn is full of fight and feistiness that makes it anything but easy for him. I have to say that that feistiness could be endearing and at times frustrating, but that’s what makes the story that much more fun to read. They both give and take from the very beginning until the inevitable tumble between the sheets changes the game. The push and pull kept me turning the pages. Tate and Quinn’s relationship makes for a very entertaining read! Fans of this author will be pleased with the final outcome. Kiss My Boots needs to be on your immediate TBR!

Cosmopolitan, July 2017

“15 Summer Reads to Make Things Even Hotter This July: Harper Sloan releases the next book in her Coming Home series with Kiss My Boots. How do you face your greatest love, when you have spent a lifetime erasing their memory? Quinn Davis is in for a fight of the heart now that Tate Montgomery is back in Pine Oak.”

—Popsugar

“Ms. Sloan reeled me in with sassy dialogue, tempting characters and heartwarming moments. Kiss My Boots will walk all over your heart and leave you with a smile.”

Hopeless Romantic

“Wow! This was so awesome. Harper Sloan has fast become a one click author for me and I’m yet to read one of her stories that I don’t get fully invested in and devour. After finishing book one in the Coming Home series, Lost Rider, and falling in love with Quinn, I could not wait to get my hands on Kiss My Boots and read Quinn’s story. I loved every minute as I knew I would…I think it’s pretty safe to say I would highly recommend this story to anyone who loves second chance love stories involving an absolutely badass heroine and a sweet lovable hero who will stop at nothing to win back the love of his life. This story is just pure awesomeness. Check it out, you know you want to.”

Steamy Reads

“A light-hearted sweet love story…The story flows at a steady pace with little drama…Kiss My Boots was a sweet, sexy, second-chance love story with a high dose of hilarious banters and swoony romance. Light, easy summer read.”

—AC Book Blog

“Great characters, quirky sayings (I laughed so hard at a few, I nearly fell off the couch!) and steamy, sexy scenes. I  cannot wait for the next in the series…no way am I missing it!!”

Praise for Lost Rider, Book 1:

“Sloan hits it out of the park with her first Coming Home contemporary western romance…Maverick is a perfect hero: multilayered, complicated, deeply damaged, yet blooming with the new promise of love. Leighton is appealing and real, as are a strong supporting cast of characters whom readers will be glad to follow into sequels. Sloan enhances the gripping story with country songs that open each chapter. This absolutely spectacular effort catapults Sloan to the top of her genre.”

—Publishers Weekly (STARRED REVIEW)

“The first book in Sloan’s Coming Home series is a supersexy second-chance read with a handsome ex-rodeo cowboy hero and the girl he left behind. The characters are well written and the bedroom scenes are hot…Sloan does a wonderful job with portraying the secondary characters, and it looks like Quinn’s story, which is next up, is going to be a good one.”

RT VIP Salon

“Sloan brings plenty of heat to this otherwise very thoughtful, building love story, the first in her Coming Home series…Maverick’s pursuit of Leighton and her slow acceptance ignites the vivid ranch and small-town settings. Contemporary western romances are challenging to write, and Sloan makes it fun to read about realistic ways cowboys can fit into modern society. Readers will look forward to learning how the uncovered family secrets affect siblings Clay and Quinn in future books.”

—Booklist

“Sloan begins a new Western series with engaging characters and an appealing small-town setting; her second-chance-at-love romance resonates emotionally…Sloan knows her way around sexual tension and emotional intensity.”

About Harper Sloan

Harper lives in small town Georgia just a short drive from her hometown of Peachtree City. She (and her 3 daughters) enjoy ruling the house they dubbed ‘Estrogen Ocean’, much to her husband’s chagrin. Harper has a borderline unhealthy obsession with books; you can almost ALWAYS find her with her eReader attached. She enjoys bad reality TV and cheesy romantic flicks. Her favorite kind of hero–the super alpha kind!

Harper started using writing as a way to unwind when the house went to sleep at night; and with a house full of crazy it was the perfect way to just relax. It didn’t take long before a head full of very demanding alphas would stop at nothing to have their story told.

I really like paranormal romances but read just about anything. The variety makes the books not run together plus can fit my mood.
