~ Maria’s Review ~

The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory is a fun. sexy, sweet, angsty romance. I truly enjoyed it. The author is new to me, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I’m glad I took a chance. The writing flowed and the story kept me engaged. The characters were well developed. I especially loved Alexa’s sass and vulnerability. Her insecurities made her relatable and her honesty was refreshing. Drew Nichols is delicious. I loved his wit and humor. I loved how he didn’t even know he was falling for Alexa. It just happened naturally. The premise is fun and exciting. The author builds the relationship naturally. There is no insta-love. I really like that because I’m not a fan of love at first sight. It’s a great twist on making a connection and trying to develop a long distance relationship while not voicing concerns and having “the talk” for fear of rocking the boat. Some unexpected obstacles and conflict and the characters getting in their own way, kept me turning pages to see if they would find their way to their HEA. Great for the romance fan!
