On A Tuesday

4.5 Stars

We met on a Tuesday.
Became best friends, then lovers, on a Tuesday.
And everything fell apart on a Tuesday…

Charlotte Taylor has three automatic strikes in my book: 1) She hates me. She also claims that I’m a “domineering jerk with a huge, overbearing ego.” (I do have something huge. It’s not my ego, though.) 2) She takes our mandatory tutoring sessions way too seriously. 3) She’s sexy as hell…And a virgin.

At least, those were her strikes before our study sessions started lasting longer than they were supposed to. Until one innocent kiss became a hundred dirty ones, and until she became the first woman I ever fell hard for.

Our future together after graduation was supposed to be set:
Professional football for me. Law school for her.

But she left me at the end of the semester with no explanation, and then she completely disappeared from my life.

Until tonight.

We met on a Tuesday.
Became everything, then nothing, on a Tuesday.
And now it’s seven years later, on a Tuesday…

My Thoughts

There are so many things I loved about this book it would be impossible for me to cover them all in my review.

Grayson Connors and Charlotte Taylor ~ two brilliantly written characters. Each contain such enduring qualities you can’t help but feel … everything.

Charlotte the determined, straight-laced, career driven woman. Grayson the career focused, driven, sexy as hell man who turns Charlotte’s world upside down … and won’t give up …. ever.

The storyline is fresh, entertaining and engaging. The cast of characters are vast. They are funny, heartwarming and refreshing in their words and actions.

The story focuses on the relationship of Grayson and Charlotte. Their ups and downs. Their friends and their actions and reactions. Their future careers. Mostly though it is centered on the growing friendship, the mistrust and misunderstanding of each others true feelings and the enchanting way that Grayson and Charlotte fall into each other, never realizing the walls they build have slowly started to disappear. Trust and truth play a large part in the story. Never …. not once did it occur to me that sabotage, that one’s self-protection for personal gain was a factor in this story. I think that magnificent factor was hidden behind the wonderful way the story was presented.

We are delighted with flashbacks, emails, texts, not so grand gestures that seem huge while in fact they live up to the words … it’s the smallest things that bring the greatest joy.

I fell in love with Grayson within a word or two. He seduced me with his determination, his willingness not to question why her, why now and to just follow his heart. His compassion, loving gestures, adorable personality, sinfully sexy looks only added to his appeal.

Charlotte was so easy to relate to. Her willingness not to give up on anything and everything was one of her strongest qualities. Her determination to pursue her career, to incorporate into her life things she had never dreamed possible, her internal fight over trust, her deep-seated friendships created a well-defined, likeable character.

The story of Grayson and Charlotte is so many things, but at the center of the story is two people whose lives connected in an unexpected way. It’s the story of how that connection grew, the growing pains they encountered, their fight to never give up, the pain of loss and the realization that not everyone who you trust is who they seem to be.
