A troubled marriage. A one week hall pass.

Gabriella Moore has it all; a beautiful husband, two adorable children, and a dream home. Yet, when, by chance, she befriends Eli online, she falls fast. And hard.

She knows she must let him go, and saying goodbye is one of the hardest things she’s ever done, but she resolves to move on and forget about her beautiful stranger.

But then… she makes an unexpected discovery, and it shakes her perfect world to its core. Rules don’t apply anymore. An arrangement is made, and her husband gives her just one week with Eli.

The rules are clear: One week. Sex only. No contact thereafter. Seems simple enough, but it’s never simple when it comes to love.

Author’s note: contains sexual scenes and some coarse language.

~ My Thoughts ~

There’s such a calm gentleness in the way Roya Carmen tells a story. She wraps you in a blanket of warmth with her words and leads you into a world she created in her mind. Even when dealing with taboo subjects, she lures you into this sense of contentment and before you know it the real world ceases to exist.

One Week was a magnificent story of love in its every form. Mother, father and daughter. Young love that blossoms over time. The unconditional love that is given and received with your children and the love that grows as husband and wife. It’s also a realistic look at what happens over time within a marriage. The ups and downs. The good times and bad and everything that happens in between. It shines a spotlight on life and how unknowingly in our minds, things change as we live day-to-day. It’s how you handle change. Change within yourself and change within your relationships.

I am not an emotional reader. What I mean to say is yes I feel the emotions of the story and the characters, but it is rare that I express those emotions outwardly. As I read this story, tears silently slipped down my face. The story line was so profound with such realism coursing through it I was torn apart and honestly could not believe what I had read. The writing was brilliant and the emotions were raw, real and roared.

The characters in this story are spot on perfect. The story line was one most could relate with. It was fun, flirty, realistic, heartbreaking and filled with love, shock, confusion and fear.

Within the page of One Week I fell in love. I had my heart-broken. I laughed. I felt the anticipation. I reveled in the lovemaking. I felt hope for the future and fear for the present.

This book contained everything I love in a story. Family, life, love, loss and the idea that it’s never too late to rebuild your life and pursue your every dream.
