4.5 Stars for Gypsy King by Devney Perry. This book caught my eye with its beautiful cover and captured me with a story that was addictive, suspenseful and just fantastic.
This was my first read by author Devney Perry, but it won’t be my last. She has strong characters and a plot line you get lost in with twists and turns that had me turning pages feverishly, dying to know what happens next and if my theories were correct.
The push/ pull between Dash and Bryce is fantastic. The sarcasm and snark in their banter is perfect. The tension is palpable. While not exactly a conventional enemies to lovers, it has that feel.
I also love the original way the author incorporates the MC life in this story. It is a unique and unconventional take on the MC.
This story would’ve been a 5 star read for me but I felt too many things were left unresolved. While I understand this is book one of 2, it wasn’t like a cliffhanger ending. I’m ok with that. I expect that in a duet or series. It left me needing answers. I’m hoping that the questions will be answered in the next book.
That being said, I do highly recommend this book and am eagerly awaiting book 2. Author Devney Perry is an author worth checking out. I’m glad I did and look forward to reading her other books.
