Destiny, duty and desire clash in this epic new novel in J. R. Ward’s #1 New York Times bestselling Black Dagger Brotherhood series…
Lassiter, the fallen angel, is too good at the savior business. In his new role overseeing the fates of all vampires, he’s influenced outcomes he shouldn’t have- so the Creator is calling him home. But the angel has a reason to stay in Caldwell. He’s bonded with a mysterious female who’s seemed to appear from out of nowhere… and has powers that defy all reason.
Rahvyn is well aware that she doesn’t belong in the present. And she never intended to stay, for her true place is in the past. Lassiter proves to be undeniable, however, and she lets herself fall for the angel- until a secret he’s been keeping comes out and she fears that for him, it’s not about love, but duty.
As the Omega’s son reestablishes the Lessening Society, and the Brotherhood must resume the deadly war- an unfathomable tragedy occurs. In the aftermath, Rahvyn has to decide whether to stay and help- or save herself from an immortal heartbreak she knows will crush her very soul…

~ Maria’s Review ~

Lassiter by JR Ward has been a highly anticipated book for me. I have loved Lassiter’s character from the moment he was introduced. I’m so happy he got a starring role in his own story.

Lassiter, the novel, is an emotional rollercoaster filled with so many twists that I was getting whiplash. I can’t even count the number of WTF or the many times I gasped. At one point, my kindle almost didn’t survive it. I wanted to throw it across the room. I ugly snot cried in disbelief. Don’t get me wrong, there were plenty of laugh out loud moments as would be expected for our snarky, sarcastic, sometimes cringe-worthy Lassiter and the Brothers, as well as, life lessons to be learned. This book drained me emotionally and put me through the wringer.

Lassiter & Rhavyn are strong, complex and amazing characters. Love their story. They had a connection. They were angsty. They were steamy. Honestly, I do wish we had more of their journey than Devina and Lash!! I loathe those two but they serve their purpose of furthering the series story arc and setting up the next book.

About J.R. Ward

J.R. Ward is the number one New York Times bestselling author of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series of vampire books. She is a winner of the prestigious Romance Writers of America RITA award for Best Paranormal Romance and is a multiple RITA nominee. A graduate of Smith College, she was a double major in History and Art History with a medieval concentration in both and she still longs at times for a return to those days sitting in dark lecture halls, looking at slides of old triptychs and reliquaries. Prior to becoming a full-time writer, she was a corporate attorney, serving for many years as the Chief of Staff of one of Harvard Medical Schools premier teaching sites. Her idea of absolute heaven is a day filled with nothing but her computer, her dog and her coffee pot and the Brothers, of course.
