~ My Thoughts ~
I would say one of my best qualities is that I am not easily influenced. So, I am confused at the bewilderment I am feeling right now. This is the second time this author has managed to garner complete control over my mind, leading me to believe whatever she wants.
Let the mind games begin.
It took me longer to figure out who was responsible for the haunting things that happened in this story than it did with her first book in the genre.
The first book had me assuming, changing my mind, reevaluating my assumptions and then having my mind completely blown, not once, not twice but three times.
With this story I had read well over half of the novel until I had a little inkling as to what the truth really was. Who it was who could have demonized the lead character in their own unique, chilling, and compelling way.
Hooray for me, I had it all figured out and a glimmer of hope for the lead character brought a sense of closure, until it did not.
Once again, Vi Keeland has spread her wings and has written an intensely twisted story which I found impossible to figure out.
Her brilliant ability to create well-rounded, intriguing, and realistic characters shines brightly in this story along with her creative talent for knowing when to lay low and when to strike with the unexpected.
I would be remiss if I did not mention her extreme talent at providing descriptions of locations that burst open before my eyes with brilliant, vivid colors and details.
From constantly feeling a slight edge of what’s next, to being lulled into the different scenarios of sexual situations, some harsh, some tempting and some downright dirty, all underlined with vision of the church, confessions, and sins, your mind will be spinning with what ifs.
Someone Knows is a well thought out, intriguing and enticing story. One that had me hooked, shocked, and blindsided by the ending.
I truly hope that Vi continues to thrill us with many more books in the genre. She is a force to be reckoned with and I cannot wait to get my hands on her next release.
