Book Description:

Determined to overcome a dark and tragic past, college student Everly Wallace is only months away from earning her degree in physical therapy. She’s consumed with school, caring for her ailing grandfather, and figuring out how to pay the next bill. The last thing she wants is a relationship, but it just might be the one thing she needs.

Major League pitcher Cole Parker hasn’t fought for anything in his life. He went from a privileged upbringing to a multimillion dollar All-Star career. But when his pitching shoulder starts to give him trouble at only twenty-four years old, he faces the possibility of his injury becoming public knowledge and costing him everything.

In a desperate bid to save his career, Cole decides to hire someone to treat his injury, someone who will keep things off the record and out of the media. He finds the perfect solution in Everly. As mysterious as she is beautiful, she provides an enticing distraction from his pain. Soon, physical therapy is the last thing on his mind.

When an act of betrayal brings the truths they both fear to light, Cole will have to fight for the first time in his life…not just for his career, but for Everly’s love.

Raine Thomas’ take on Cole Parker from For Everly

The physical inspiration for Cole Parker came from this photo of Jordan Carlyle. Right MaleModeldown to the chinstrap beard and piercing hazel eyes, this fits the image in my head to a T! Since Cole is a twenty-four-year-old Major League pitcher, he maintains his physique very well…even more so when he finds himself under the care of physical therapy student Everly Wallace.

Cole was raised in a stable, well-to-do family. His parents have a loving relationship, and both of Cole’s older siblings are in committed relationships, as well. He has yet to find the right woman to make him consider any kind of serious relationship, though, and he holds a lot of himself back.

Because of his upbringing and achieving multi-millionaire status by the age of twenty-one, Cole has little sense of the trials and tribulations most people endure. The women he dates typically run in his circles, so when he meets the destitute waitress who becomes his physical therapist, he’s thrown for a loop. He’s self-assured and confident, gentlemanly and open-minded. He’s also got a temper and can be quick to jump to conclusions, which gets him into trouble.

Last but not least, here are a few fun facts that readers won’t learn about Cole in the book:

–        He’s a Taurus (birthday is May 11th).

–        He first kissed a girl at the age of twelve…she cut her lip on his braces.

–        He wears the number 42.

–        He likes to read (mostly thrillers).

–        He’s ticklish, especially along his ribcage.
