I have always been a huge fan of roller coasters and the painfully anxious anticipation that they bring. Victoria Michaels created such an experience within the typed and bound pages of Concealed. When I was given the opportunity to read an ARC of this novel, I was quick to jump as Michaels is a superb storyteller but also because the synopsis was rather enticing. Within moments of diving into her world, I was hooked and taken on a journey far different than I was expecting.
I do not want to give anything away, as the blurb from this book does not do the story justice, but suffice to say – I read it all in one sitting. I was certain at times I had this thing figured out and how could I possibly have so much more left to read and BAM! Next thing I know, I have been catapulted from my harness only to find myself on a new and far more interesting ride.
If you like mystery, suspense, and true deep rooted love, then you will be remiss not to pick up this piece. My only complaint was that I became so invested in these people that I felt rushed by its ending. Luckily, this is the first book in this series and I will one day soon get to submerse myself again in Michaels’ intoxicating world.
As always, reading is subjective and these are my opinions colored by my personal reading tastes and preferences.
