As a Part-time PI and fulltime grim reaper, Charley Davidson has asked a lot of questions throughout her life: Why can I see dead people? Who is the hot supernatural entity following me? How do I get gum out of my sister’s hair before she wakes up? But, “How do I trap not one malevolent god, but three?” was never among them. Until now. And since those gods are on earth to kill her daughter, she has little choice but to track them down, trap them, and cast them from this dimension.
There’s just one problem. One of the three stole her heart a very long time ago. Can the Razer, a god of absolute death and destruction, change his omniscient spots, or will his allegiances lie with his brothers?
Those are just a few of the questions Charley must answer, and quick. Add to that a homeless girl running for her life, an innocent man who’s been charged with murdering the daughter of a degenerate gambler, and a pendant made from god glass that has the entire supernatural world in an uproar, and Charley has her hands full. If she can manage to take care of the whole world-destroying-gods thing, we’re saved. If not, well...

Karen’s Review

Nobody does ‘it’ better than Darynda Jones! The ‘it’ being writing laugh filled, thrilling and utterly magical urban fantasy.  Now your mind might have gone to another ‘it’ as Jones does write one hell of a sex scene, they are HOT with and capital ‘H’, as they do include the son of satan, in the character of Reyes Farrow.   In my reading life I have loved many books and book series, but if I had to be stranded on a desert isle, after a three hour tour,  with any group of characters it would be Charley and company.  Jones has written characters that despite being supernatural, are also believable and have real life problems mixed into the plots of the crazy world that is the Grim Reaper slash other dimensional god.  This is what makes Jones so utterly unique in her writing, while Charley might be off looking for the ‘big baddie’, she is also concerned about her marriage.  Her bestie Cookie, also has to deal with a teen daughter and her ex husband being an asshat, all the while dealing with Charley’s hilarious ADHD behavior.  Jones’s books work because they have the real life elements mixed in with the supernatural, the heartbreaks are real and the joys of life are uplifting.

This latest book in the series starts just a week after the crew returns from Sleepy Hollow New York.  Like all of Jones books Charley hits the ground running and doesn’t stop until the very end, well that is a mild lie, as the books never stop as Jones leaves a few thread dangling to be picked up in the next installment.
