For Mackenzie Cox, racing motorcycles is in her blood. Born into a family legacy, she's determined to show the world that she has inherited her father's talent in this male-dominated sport. The last thing Kenzie needs is to be antagonised by her rival team's newest rider, Hayden Hayes. Hayden, exceedingly arrogant and outrageously attractive, immediately gets under Kenzie's skin and she can't help but be distracted.

As Kenzie and Hayden push each other on the track, the electric energy between them off the track shifts into an intense - and strictly forbidden - attraction. The only rule between their two ultra-competitive teams is zero contact. Kenzie needs a win, and she also needs to stay away from Hayden. Unfortunately for her though, one thing has become all too clear: she can't.

Fuelled by passion, driven by desire, Hayden and Mackenzie both want to win more than anything else. Except for, maybe, each other. But anger, jealousy and extreme competitiveness aren't their only obstacles . . .

Review

I read this book because I am a big fan of the author. I didn’t know what the storyline centered around or what to expect. I went in blind hoping the author would once again write a story that captured my heart, mind and soul.

The focal point of the book was a surprise. After reading first paragraph I was excited to read this story. The author centers the story on a sport that is rarely written about, motorcycle racing. For me that was a plus, something new, fresh and exciting.

Meet Kenzie. A young woman who is determined to reach the goals she has set forth for herself.    Dealing with more than anyone her age should, she will not give up fighting for what she believes will stabilize not only her life but her family as well.

Meet Hayden. One look, that’s all it takes and Hayden will stop you in your tracks. Make your heartbeat accelerate and he will take your mind places that will put a blush on your face. Behind the drop dead gorgeous looks, the quick witted comments and the smile that will melt you into a puddle, is a young man who has fought to win. Win for himself and to win for the few who he let into his life and have become his family.

Along with Hayden and Kenize are a cast of characters that are each unique and intriguing. They are well described in both a physical and emotional sense. Each character plays a pivotal role in bringing the story full circle.

The story centers on family, life, loss and one’s self-worth. It allows us to view how the comments and actions of others can beat a person down. It is an emotional story filled with turmoil and self-doubt. So many secrets, lies and doubts are written into the story. The author slowly reveals the truths throughout the book.

Though I enjoyed the story I found that I read this without connecting to the characters or the emotions they were feeling. While the story had a good pace at times I found it a bit repetitive. The author had me guessing and kept me wondering as I tried to solve the mystery that is laced within the words. I enjoyed how I was never quite sure how the story would end. I have to say I was pleased and delighted at the turn of events.
