Fantastic sequel to the novel No One To Hold by debut author Arell Rivers. Hard to Hold is written in Rose’s POV. I wasn’t sure if I was happy about that because book 1 was written in Cole’s POV and I loved it. But, author Arell Rivers did an awesome job switching POV. The story didn’t miss a beat and I got to know Rose’s character on another level. Which I loved, because, honestly, at times, in book 1, she proved to be frustrating. Not so in Hard to Hold. Rose grows and comes into her own. I loved the character development for both, Rose and Cole.

Hard to Hold picks up effortlessly where No One to Hold left off. It explores the dynamics of Cole and Rose’s complicated relationship situation. Author Arell Rivers continues to build their relationship. The story has playful banter, heartfelt emotion, and angsty drama. Did I mention sensual sexy times? Cole is still as hot as ever.

The story also gives a deeper look into Rose’s career and why she is the way she is. We see the jealousy and petty side of some supporting characters, especially her boss, as well as, the fun, supportive side of others. I love Wills, just saying!

We get answers to many questions that arose from book 1 and closure on some. It’s hard to review the sequel without giving away spoilers. There are some twists and that ending?!? Omg, author Arell Rivers outdid herself. Again, you are all lucky because the complete trilogy has been released. I had to wait and it was killer. But worth it. If you enjoyed No One to Hold, you’re going to love Hard To Hold. I did. It’s everything you want in a contemporary romance. This is NOT a standalone. Must read book 1 first.

For as long as I can remember, I have been lost in a book. During my senior year in college, I picked up a Danielle Steel novel … and instantly was hooked on romance.

I started writing my first novel, No One to Hold, because the characters were screaming at me to do so. The story started coming out in my dreams and attacking me in the shower, so I took to the computer to shut them up. But they kept talking.

Born and raised in New Jersey, I have what some may call a “checkered past.” Prior to discovering my passion for writing romance, I practiced law, was a wedding and event planner and even dabbled in marketing. I live with a very supportive husband and two mischievous cats. When not in my writing cave, I can be found making dinner in the crock pot, working out with Shaun T or hitting the beach.
