The conclusion of The Cloister does not disappoint. In fact, it pushes the already stretched boundaries further testing your limits as a reader.
The depravity and gruesomeness of this story intensifies as the author wraps up every loose thread, providing a complete and compelling series.
“Nothing pure can survive here.”
I haven’t read any other books that follow the theme in The Cloister Series and I think it would be hard for an author to write anything as detailed and intriguing as this series. I could compare this to a car wreck or some other horrible disaster …. you want to look away but you are compelled to keep looking … The Cloister series takes hold and squeezes you tight while you are immersed in the world of the Heavenly and its mind blowing horrific workings.
“But that’s what my father does . Poisons everything and everyone he touches.”
The characters stay true to form throughout the story and continue to grow until the last page. The creativity of the author, her use of torture, blood, violence and cruelty goes beyond anything that you can image.
“In my experience , monsters don’t self-reflect, they just act. Again and again, destroying whatever they need to in order to get their way.”
I can honestly say that this series was not what I expected … but honestly I wasn’t sure what to expect. This story though had me reeling. It’s brutal and bloody and it caught me because I kept reading. At times I couldn’t believe my eyes but yet … I kept reading.
“I don’t want to hurt them, but this is war. And this has to end bloody.”
Not for the faint of heart and not your usual dark romance so if you choose to read this series don’t be fooled expecting the typical kidnapping, falling in love with my tormentor story.
