New York Times bestselling author Sylvain Reynard returns with the fourth installment of the beloved Gabriel's Inferno series.   When Gabriel and Julia Emerson first lay eyes on their newborn daughter, Clare, they realize life as they know it will never be the same. Gabriel has vowed to be a good father when he suddenly receives an invitation to give a series of lectures in Edinburgh, Scotland--an opportunity of high prestige—but that would mean leaving his wife and child in Boston. Hesitant to bring it up, he keeps the opportunity from Julia as long as he can, not knowing she has a secret of her own.   When a frightening situation arises that threatens their new family, both parents must make sacrifices. With the family in danger, the looming question remains: Will Gabriel pursue his lectureship in Edinburgh, leaving Julia and Clare vulnerable in Boston, or will he abandon the chance of a lifetime in order to ensure his family's safety?

Yesi’s Thoughts

That feeling of warmth, love, and peace… that’s what I felt for Gabriel’s Promise. It felt like a homecoming after being away for so long. And I know that I am not alone in that sentiment as this series has remained in my heart for years. Gabriel’s Inferno will forever be one of my favorite romance novels and I can never get enough. My gratitude goes out to Sylvain Reynard for bringing my favorite characters back in 2020.

Gabriel’s Promise is the fourth installment in the Gabriel’s Inferno series and it was full of emotion. It picks up right where book 3 left off, with Julia and Gabriel as new parents. I loved reading about Gabriel and his quest to take care of both Clare and Julia to the best of his ability. He was the perfect father, full of neurosis, but still, perfect. While there was quite a bit going on, not once did his love for his wife and newborn falter and that’s what I loved the most.

This latest novel is full of emotions, twists and turns with some unexpected suspense, as well as many obstacles along the way, and yet, it still stayed true to the series. I will say that I was left with questions and a fast beating heart, so I am hopeful that there is more to come. Overall, I enjoyed revisiting my favorite Professor and diving back into the world of academia, love, and drama.

About Sylvain Reynard

I am honoured to have had my novels appear on the New York Times and USAToday Bestseller lists. I was a Semifinalist for Best Author in the 2011 and 2012 Goodreads Choice Awards. “Gabriel’s Inferno” was a Semifinalist for Best Romance in 2011 and “Gabriel’s Rapture” was a Finalist for Best Romance in 2012, in the Goodreads Choice Awards, as well. The final novel in The Gabriel Series, “Gabriel’s Redemption,” debuted at #6 on the New York Times Bestseller list. It was a Finalist for a 2014 Goodreads Choice Award as Best Romance.I’m interested in the way literature can help us explore aspects of the human condition – particularly suffering, sex, love, faith, and redemption. My favourite stories are those in which a character takes a journey, either a physical journey to a new and exciting place, or a personal journey in which he or she learns something about himself/herself.

I’m also interested in how aesthetic elements such as art, architecture, food, drink, and music can be used to tell a story or to illuminate the traits of a particular character. In my writing, I combine all of these elements with the themes of redemption, forgiveness, and the transformative power of goodness.

I try to use my platform as an author to raise awareness about the following charities: Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation, WorldVision, Alex’s Lemonade Stand, and Covenant House.
