There really isn’t another way to say this so here goes… read this book! If there is one thing I love, it’s when a known player falls for the girl next door. LOVE it I tell you! Throw in the mix that said player is a really good guy, a firefighter, and has equally HOT brothers… yeah… SOLD! Add in the fact that the leading lady is kind, sweet, hard-working, oh and equally a relationship-phobe? Absolute perfection!
Jaci Burton is back with another installment of the Brotherhood by Fire series and she absolutely delivers a winner. It’s hard not fall for Rafe and Carmen’s story. They are strong, independent, hard-working people who really are meant to be. They may not realize it right away, but that’s okay, because that is what makes reading this book so entertaining. I am big fan of this author, this genre, and definitely this series, so this book hit the spot.
Raje and Carmen bring a whole new level to the “friends-to-lovers” romance novel… they bring the steamy, sexy side and they bring the sweet side too. Watching (well reading) Rafe fall for Carmen and fight for her to realize how much they are meant to be was my favorite part of the story line. Throw some angst in the mix and you’ll for sure be reading long into the night. This is classic Jaci Burton and I couldn’t have been happier. Definitely recommend!
