~My Thoughts~
Welcome to the golden age of Hollywood. Where bombshells are born, lies flow like water from the tap and the public just can’t seem to get enough gossip about the private lives of the rich and famous.
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is written with extraordinary authenticity. The iconic places that have cemented themselves into the history of Hollywood are written with brilliant vitality. My mind exploded with images that I have seen and read about with zero effort on my part.
I found myself lost in the world created by this author. Very curious as to what would happen next, I was a bit dumbfounded by the shocking surprises that were flawlessly placed within the storyline.
As with her other work, the author graces us with well rounded, interesting and strong characters. I thoroughly enjoyed that I forgot I was reading fiction and felt that I was learning about the ins and outs of Hollywood.
Finding love, family and sense of inner peace plays a large role in this story. At times your heart fills with love and at other times the heartbreak crushes you.
Nothing though could have prepared me for what was to come. While the author warns the characters a few times within the story, I wonder if that warning was for the reader as well.
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is a great story. Wonderfully written, it’s the perfect escape for any booklover.
