How to Lose at Love: Colter Brothers by Sara Ney
Pages: 397
Format: eARC

four-half-stars

I, Dallas Colter, need a good girl to save my bad reputation.
With too much on my plate, the very last thing on my mind was a relationship—the football draft was looming and dating got in the way. I never understood why my teammates bothered with girlfriends. None of us had the time.
When my sports agent suggested that being seen in public with a respectable girl would be good for my bad reputation, I couldn’t think of a single person to help me out. The only girls I knew weren’t wifey material, and the ones who were? Might catch feelings.
Except Ryann Winters.
Responsible. Sarcastic. Smart. Ryann is perfect but there was one clincher: she was my teammates ex-girlfriend and I had recently been paid by him to dump her.
Not the best start to a fake relationship…

4.5 Stars!!!

How to Lose at Love by Sara Ney is book 1 in her new Campus Legends series and it is fantastic!!! I love the way Author Sara Ney writes college romance. It is her sweet spot. And I am here for it.

In HTLAL, we meet Dallas and Ryann, our hero and heroine. Dallas is the football team mvp. But he’s not your stereotypical jock frat boy. I mean, he’s gorgeous, athletic and grumpy but when he’s off the field, he’s no player. Ryann is pretty and sassy. She’s also just been dumped by her boyfriend through Dallas. And so it begins.

I love the alternating POV, especially being in Dallas’ head. Again, no one writes the male college jock like Sara Ney. I was laughing out loud and shaking my head reading his thoughts and the things he said out loud!

I love the banter between them. It is funny, sarcastic, and flirty. I love that they have an attraction but it isn’t insta-love. He is a little clueless and it only endears him to me more.  She is feisty and no simping fan. I love how their journey unfolds.

I must include Dallas’ brothers and Ryann’s BFF as more reasons I love this book. If you read The Secret Roommate, you already met Duke, the older brother. These supporting characters enhance the story with their personalities and interactions.

How to Lose at Love is Sara Ney at her finest. It’s a sweet, fun, sexy college romance with an unlikely match. It has enough drama to keep the you engaged without being over the top. I loved Dallas and Ryann. I know you will, too!! Can’t wait for more Colter brother books.
