Silver & Blood by Jessie Mihalik
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
The Epigraph pulled me into the book before the first chapter. The book starts with Riela new magic user going into a forest to kill a monster and save her village. Even if she didn’t truly want to go into the scary forest. Her neighbors the villages aren’t warm and cuddly, more the pitchfork and torch kind, so that is the reason for the start of her story.
Okay that’s enough of the start. I’m not the type of reviewer that is going to spoil the book. Mihalik I’ve read prior, in her science fiction books, but this is her first romantasy. Everyone seems it be writing in on of my favorite genres and Mihalik does the genre proud.
Here is the 411 on the book.

Do I recommend this book, YES, loved that it had a lightness of romance, that so many in this genre lack. For those who enjoy audiobooks, I read and then listened to the audiobook, and the lushness of the world comes alive in the narration.
