If there is one thing I have learned from this brilliant author is to expect the unexpected. At the end of the first book The Erotic Dark I was left wanting more. Thoughts of the characters danced in my mind haunting me and for that reason alone my focus was lost. Needless to say I was blown away when I started reading The Erotic Light by the many twists and turns that left me gasping in surprise.
Characters we thought we knew so well continued to surprise and delight in their thoughts and actions. Emotions run high and you feel not only the growing love and acceptance but the fear, confusion and intense desire to regain what you have lost.
The storyline was well simply put brilliant. The comfort of the story that I had with the first book was blown away and shattered when the author adds a twist to the story, one I never saw coming. This sparks so many different emotions and I felt each and every one with ferocious intensity.
Once again we are lured into the dark world of BDSM. We feel the shame, the longing, the internal battle, the sting and the ecstasy. Truths become lies and lies become truth. Friends we trust become friends we fear. Love becomes hate and hate becomes love. Desire becomes doubt. Doubt leads to desire.
The story of finding out who you really are and what you really want and desire in life continues in The Erotic Light. The characters you thought you knew so well not only surprise but the intrigue they hold intensifies. You find yourself gasping in disbelief. Your heart breaks at the loss of the tender touches and you shock at the intense desire for the searing sting of a slap. You shatter as they characters are thrust into a life that once was and you crumble at the pain and hurt. The characters you once knew so well at time seem like strangers and have you doubting you knew them at all. You hope for happiness, you long for the enslavement and at times you are shocked in complete and utter disbelief.
The Erotic Light is the perfect ending to such an incredible series. A series that takes you down a path of finding out who you really are, exposing your true identity, teaching you to embrace your sexual desires and needs and to find out what in life makes you feel content, happy and loved.
