Can love really conquer all?—Book Six in Katy Evans’s breakout New York Times bestselling series that began with REAL.
Maverick “The Avenger” Cage wants to rise to the top and become a legend in the ring. Though he keeps his identity well guarded, he’s known on the fighting circuit as the new kid with a chip on his shoulder and a tattoo on his back that marks him as trouble. He’s got a personal score to settle with the Underground’s one and only Remington “Riptide” Tate.
As Mav trains, he meets a young girl—the only other new person in the town—and sparks fly. When things get heated between them, he finds out she’s none other than Reese Dumas, the cousin of Remington Tate’s wife. A girl who’s supposed to root against him and a girl he’s supposed to stay away from.
But Mav fights for the woman in his heart and the monsters in his blood. The world’s eyes are on them, and the victor will go down in history as the ultimate fighting champion—the ultimate LEGEND.

Maria’s Thoughts

“I want a good fight. I like keeping things real. Reminds me I’m a man. Mortal” ~ Remy

“I want to be a legend. Legends never die. Even if they die alone.” ~ Maverick

WOW!! Absolutely loved this book! Katy Evans brought back our beloved lion-licking, moody, bad ass, alpha fighter Remington ‘Riptide’ Tate while simultaneously introducing us to the sinfully sexy, determined, strong Maverick ‘the Avenger’ Cage. Author Katy Evans spins a tale so engaging with characters so relatable and likeable, I couldn’t put the book down. I was completely invested in the outcome and dying to know how it would end. Legend is the perfect conclusion to the REAL series. And, though I’m sad to say goodbye to Remy, I’m thrilled with the closure provided by Katy Evans within Legend. While this could technically be read as a standalone, I think readers should read Real, Mine and Remy (books 1-3) to fully appreciate Remy’s part in this novel. However, it’s not necessary.

“So many words I’ve heard before. Toe-curling. Panty melting. Heart pounding. Breathtaking. I can apply them all right now. To this guy. This moment” ~ Reese Dumas

In Legend, we meet Maverick Cage, an up and coming fighter driven to be the best. Better than the best, he wants to become a legend. Nothing and no one will stand in his way. Battling personal demons, baggage from his past, and struggling to find his place in the world, he sets a goal to fight Riptide and win or go down trying. What he wasn’t expecting was Reese Dumas, Brooke Tate’s cousin and sort of “nanny” to Remy and Brooke’s child, Racer. She wasn’t looking for someone like Maverick either. She was determined to be better, work out her demons, because of course, she has them too and find herself. But what they found was each other and a chemistry so strong, it’s palpable.

“She calls to me on the most primitive level. She’s in my fucking veins. This girl.” ~ Maverick Cage

I thoroughly enjoy this series. Katy Evans writes fantastic alpha heroes. I must admit, her leading women haven’t been my favorite at the start of the books, down right frustrating at times. However, I do love her couples, overall. But, Reese is different for me. I liked her from the start. The more I got to know her, the more I liked her. And Maverick? Delicious. I enjoy the way the author revealed things to us about both characters. The pacing was perfect. Confirming what I thought, while making me wonder if I guessed incorrectly. It was nice to revisit with Remy and Team Tate, while meeting new favorite supporting character Oz, who reminded me of a cross between Mickey and Pauly from the Rocky movies. Ms. Evans ended the story perfectly, staying true to all the characters. Fans of Real and fighter romances will not ne disappointed. Kudos to Katy Evans!!

About Katy Evans

Katy Evans grew up with books and book-boyfriends until she found a real sexy boyfriend to love. They married and are now hard at work on their own happily ever after. Katy loves her family and friends, and she also loves reading, walking, baking, and being consumed by her characters until she reaches “The End.” Which is, hopefully, only the beginning…
