She’s good at achieving her goals…

College senior Sabrina James has her whole future planned out: graduate from college, kick butt in law school, and land a high-paying job at a cutthroat firm. Her path to escaping her shameful past certainly doesn’t include a gorgeous hockey player who believes in love at first sight. One night of sizzling heat and surprising tenderness is all she’s willing to give John Tucker, but sometimes, one night is all it takes for your entire life to change.
But the game just got a whole lot more complicated

Tucker believes being a team player is as important as being the star. On the ice, he’s fine staying out of the spotlight, but when it comes to becoming a daddy at the age of twenty-two, he refuses to be a bench warmer. It doesn’t hurt that the soon-to-be mother of his child is beautiful, whip-smart, and keeps him on his toes. The problem is, Sabrina’s heart is locked up tight, and the fiery brunette is too stubborn to accept his help. If he wants a life with the woman of his dreams, he’ll have to convince her that some goals can only be made with an assist.

Yesi’s Thoughts

The final installment in a beloved series finally arrived! Well, at least I think it’s the final one, the author gives us hope for more, or I totally made that up in my head with wishful thinking. LOL!  The Goal by Elle Kennedy has been one of my most anticipated books of the year and I can’t say that I totally loved but also can’t say that didn’t. While I absolutely fell head over heels for Tucker… Sabrina? Not so much. I did feel bad for her home life and all of her struggles, but at some point I was hoping that she would grow on me, but sadly, that did not happen. Her reluctance to accept the wonderful man in front of her just killed her character for me. Tucker was kind, big hearted, gorgeous, and such a good, good man, that Sabrina’s willingness to keep him at arm’s length almost the entire book just didn’t do it for me.

After that huge bombshell that was dropped at the end of The Score, I was hoping for so much from both Tucker and Sabrina! I wasn’t ever a fan of hers based on her past with two of the other characters, but I kept hoping for something that would make me love her. I liked how we got the full story of how they came to hook up and eventually to the point of WTF is happening here. Unfortunately, it was only Tucker who carried this book for me. So I can wholeheartedly give 5+ stars for Tucker, 2 stars for Sabrina, and 4.5 stars for Elle Kennedy’s writing. I hope this isn’t the last book of the series though. Bring on Fitzy and Summer!

Definitely recommend for fans of the series…
