3.5 Stars for Singe (Guardian Protection #1)

Aly Martinez

She was my nightmare. Every time I closed my eyes, I watched her fall into that inferno. Over and over, I failed to save her.

I hadn’t been able to reach her, and the guilt only burned hotter over time. Four years later, I was the unreachable one.

Heroes aren’t always saints. Sometimes, we’re nothing more than jaded sinners driven by sleepless nights and hearts full of darkness.

And then I met her. She was a dreamer who managed to soothe my scars and heal my wounds.

But, as the flames closed in around us, I feared I wasn’t the right man to save her. That is until I realized she was the one woman I’d burn the world down to protect.

~ My Thoughts ~

Once again Aly Martinez writes a story that captivates from the very beginning.  With quirky, fun characters, suspense and sizzling hot romance Singe does not disappoint.

This is what I love about this author.  Each of her books are unique unto their own.  They all have characters that are so easy to connect with.  The story lines always offer up something new and interesting.  The writing always has a sense of ease and I always find myself so in tune with everything that happens.

Singe provides characters that are easy to like.  Each and every character has that one trait that distinguishes them and makes you want to know more.  The storyline really grabs your attention and just intensifies as you read.  The deeper into the story, you see little clues, telltale signs that if you gloss over you just might miss.  The suspense, the mystery, the passion, the lies, the truths and the words left unsaid made this a fun, sexy and interesting read.  Shock and dismay, trust and mistruths play a large part in the story and only increases the entire wow factor of the book.

I fell in love with the characters.  Their thoughts, their actions, the misconceptions and hazy memories.  I loved the surprises and how beautifully all the sub-plots came together.

I look forward to reading the second book in this series.
